Super worried about billing!Follow

I'm in US, and just scrounged up the last of my monies to pay for FFXIV in full (that I had reserved), so I can just pick-it up tomorrow.

Now I'm worried, because I assumed that I would just do an autopay feature with my CC, and be billed after my first free 30 days, as like other mmo's.

After reading the forums today and logging into account management, I find out about this crysta crap/scam, what's the freaking deal. Am I going to have to pay upfront to log in tomorrow? Or will my 30 free days be able to use with no money down.

I have an active CC, just not the full funds, or time to borrow money and go to the bank. Can someone clarify from Aus, or Eur about this free 30 days, and what is required of me (money wise) to get online tomorrow. Besides the CE.

You just need to enter a valid CC. You don't need to use Crysta. They will probably run an authorization on the card to see if you are approved for the price of a month's subscription but your CC won't be charged.

Sadly no, your card will face a $2.50 charge if you opt to use the automatic monthly billing process instead of Crysta. The charge will be refunded later but it WILL charge you.

Is the 2.50 charge because your bank? Or a flat fee? Normally mine gets charged like (refunded) 1.00 to make sure its an active card, for autopay stuff. Hopefully this is the case, since I only have 1.89 ... School just started this Monday, being a Med student forked over 800 for books. Had to trade in some old PS3 games to cover the cost of CE. I'm going to be a sad panda, if its a flat fee.

That $2.50 charge isnt permenant (i already checked my bank and it was taken off) its just a pending charge to make sure your bank account is authentic.

After that, IF you want to verify your account with Click and Buy, they will do two charges between $1-$2 (This step is NOT necessary, it just helps you do larger deposits/withdrawls, wont affect the $13 charge for the game) and you take those two "change" amounts (like 1.38 and 1.57) and type them in at their website (38 and 57) and THOSE charges ARE put on the account, but credited to your CaB account, so that way when you pay your first months bill it will be reduced.

One think you may wanna find out is if your bank charges for international points of sale (mine does) because they might charge some extra change (think mine was .05 per charge) because CaB isnt based anywhere in the U.S.

hope that clears up any confusion, but i would always keep all emails and info retaining to something like this "just" in case lol

I'm not worried about future billing, I'm just worried about tomorrow, because I will only have 1.87 for the next week. Was assuming I would get my 30 days free. Or that the charge would only be 1.00 so I could get online tomorrow. Pretty bummed out about this process.
