I reactivated my account and everything... but when I made my character... I def didn't have my shoes. I don't get it.

Your POL account needs to be linked to your Square Enix account. You can do this in the SE account management page.

You'll need to delete that char and recreate one to get the shoes.

It is linked... you know what, when I reactivated my content ID, I didn't link it to my character... gonna try again.

Update: That didn't help... And I've read on other forums I'm not the only one experiencing this. Is there another requirement they haven't mentioned? Like the account needing to have been billed recently? Because if so... that's BS and they should've said that from jump. I reactivated my account a few hours ago (which has only been inactive for a month) and I can't get these boots. This is really becoming frustrating.

I'm a little confused on what exactly you've done. How did you activate a content ID without choosing a character in the first place? Also, I'm assuming you've paid the monthly fee for FFXI, right? You have to actually sub to get the boots. Also, you didn't buy a new game did you? I hear the trial period doesn't count as being subbed.

I've been playing FFXI since NA PC launch. I stopped subscribing in... July. My last transaction from them was for July 2nd. I didn't pay them for the last two months as I didn't plan on playing in August or September. I reactivated my Content ID tonight on my account. This account *is* linked to my SE account.

I'm thinking since it wasn't active when Sept 1st/2nd rolled around I may not be able to get the boots unless I wanna wait until the 1st of Oct billing cycle... :-(.

I just reactivated my content ID & linked it to my character's "handle". I guess I should've been more specific. The FFXI client is updating on my 360 just in case I have to actually show that I've "moved around" in the past months time... smh.

Reason I'm looking at this topic is because I just reupped my sub so I could get the boots. I don't have FFXIV yet, so I can't test if it worked or not. I did just check my balance over the phone and it said I have two $1 withdrawals pending on my account. I can only assume (hope) that came from SE. Perhaps they are testing my account before billing. Maybe this is why it has not worked yet because they have not finalized your billing.

Only a guess.

EDIT: Though I was using a debit card because apparently my CC doesn't have that 3-D Security deal available, so I couldn't use it.

When you reactivate do they bill in the middle of the month? I always assumed you got double billed at the end/beginning of the month... I'm prolly just gonna sleep on it and see what happens in the morning when everyone else gets theirs. I went to a midnight release for mines. I'm sure there will be more info around 10am EST...

I wonder if it's possible to contact them and have them bill u like... now. Cuz if I have to wait... 9 more days... I think I just might go insane. Only bonus I can see to that is then I'd be waiting for Standard Edition too and I can have all the bonus items... *sigh* I am sad now lol.

Here's another question.

If we have to wait till 10/1, what happens if we cancel the content ID now? It sounds like I'm gonna have to double bill myself if I want the boots at this point.

But that simply says if it's canceled. It does say something about being billed, but one would believe they were just referring to the ID being canceled and not active.

This isn't right. They need to give you the item. They know **** well that thousands of people are reactivating content IDs to get that item. If they ***** all of those people, that's just bad PR and downright dishonest.

I re-actived my content ID last night and I better have the item when I create my FFXIV character later today.

Sorry, but I'm bumping.

I just called them and the representative said the FFXI and FFXIV account have to both be off trial and since my FFXIV account is still on trial, I cannot get them.

That sounds like a completely BS answer to me as there's people running around with them on.

Since FFXI and FFXIV are using two different billing systems, you have to wait for the two systems to sync, which apparently happens once a day.

This may be the issue. The representative over the phone was giving me completely false information. They're phone support is now unavailable. Woohoo...Guess I'll just play and wait till later and try out a new character.

EDIT:

The first representative was telling me that FFXIV couldn't be on the free 30 day trial (yes, he said FFXIV, not FFXI, as I tried to correct him). I told him other people were running around with them on, how could that possibly be true. He also told me that after 30 days I would receive the boots "if everything was set up correctly" on my characters, despite everything I've seen telling me I have to create a new character. Needless to say, I got a little peeved at this guy, telling him I wasn't buying his answer and I really didn't want to wait another 15 minutes (probably a slight exaggeration) on the phone to get through. He had a long pause and was not saying anything, so I just hung up.

Their phone service finally came back up. I got a second representative. He was much nicer and made note of my issue, though he had no real answer. He put in some petition to get my problem looked at by someone and I might possibly (he couldn't guarantee) get a response. I told him a bout it possibly being a billing issue or that info from the lodestone site. He didn't seem to know, but at least he wasn't feeding me BS answers.

All of the items I was expecting are in my inventory.

The shoes have Output+1 and Mag. Craftmanship+1 for me.. no mention of speed bonus on them.

When you equip them you gain "Quickened" - no mention of duration but it's a massively large increase in speed.

I really want these **** boots. And the idea that I went and picked this game up at *MIDNIGHT* only to sit here NOT PLAYING because they won't give me my boots yet is killing me lol.

I reactivated my content ID before JP midnight so I thought that would help but clearly not... This is lowkey torture. I hope this gets handled soon. But man, I could KICK myself for not reactivating sooner! I just never got around to it lol.

Did you at least try to see if you had the boots? If not, what exactly is your plan? It sounds like you could create a character, then once your FFXI content ID makes its way through the system, you can simply delete your FFXIV character and then re-activate that same character so that you would not actually have to start over again.

What time in CDT is Japanese midnight?

IDK what time it is in CDT, but JP midnight is 7am PST... I reactivated at 1am PST. I've been remade my character 3 times today to see if I got the boots. Nothing yet.

I would just play the game and hope they show up later on. If they don't you have two recourse actions. 1. Later in the month, delete your character and then re-activate that same character, or 2. Pester SE with calls and emails with proof that you had an active ffxi content ID and a linked account at the time that you created your character.

No way are the boots worth waiting several days for when all my friend are happily playing FFXIV.

I reactivated my FF11 account last night as well, made my first character and no shoes. At the character creation screen I was only given the option to carry over my names from beta.

So I logged into FF11 and ran around for a few and logged off. I remade a character and this time, when they asked for import names from beta, my FF11 character name/world was there too. I got the hermes shoes.

So try logging into FF11 and logging out, hope that helps :)
