I haven't found this by searching, so I wanted to get other people's experience noted.

My package is currently out for delivery from Amazon, via Fedex. Does Fedex require a signature or can they just drop it off at your front door (I'm in a house, btw).

Usually not.

But it's up to the driver to determine if there is a 'safe' place to leave the package, if there isn't they leave a note on your door saying you can pick it up from their office in the evening or they will try to re-deliver the next day.

In my area the drivers typically just leave it by the door, they don't even knock or ring the bell.

Also the shipper can request a signature, tho this isn't normally done for stuff under 100$ value.

Usually they just drop it off on my front porch unless the tracking page says something to the effect of "Signature required".

Is it your first time receiving something from Fedex? I'm not sure but I think long ago when I first started using Amazon (and first started receiving regular deliveries) I had to check some box somewhere authorizing Fedex to just leave packages on my porch. I may be misremembering though.

Is this in the US?
I think FedEx run Buisness Post in the UK and they always want a signiture.
Most if not all of the parcel delivery services use electronic signiture pads now to log deliveries,
