You had to have done all the extra leg work with codes PRIOR to creating your character. The servers haven't even been up a full 24hours. In the long run, if you want the items I'd totally just recreate. You won't lose that much progress long term.

ah! i was wondering if it would work for a second character! is that correct? on the same account - but just a new character? any way one character can store an item for another character on the same account? like the retainer or a friend?

I entered the codes for helm and armbands prior to the game I then put in a code for my game registration. I did not get the items it seems there are 2 service accounts 1 with the items and 1 with the game and it won't let me redo it it seems I'm screwed

After you register the in game item code ever character you create after that will get the item. So if you made youre beloved lalafell already and got to rank 2... OMG rank 2...you may as well delete and remake to get the item.

I think it's better to wait till your account is active with the retail version. When I did mine I hadn't canceled my beta account, and when i input the bonus code for the onion helm it asked me which account I wanted to apply it to FFXIV service #1 or service #2; #1 being the beta account, #2 the retail version account. wonder if this is the mistake some people are making? luckily I picked the right one ;}I didn't really care if I used same name and character as beta so I made a new account which became #2.

When I tried to register my armbands code last night it said I don't have a service account available to add them to so I would have assumed that it won't let you add them before you have a live account, and thus won't use up the code.
I will find out soon...

Except it DID let me register the Armbands on my account before installing the retail. I don't even have retail yet. So I'll probably be yelling at SE come release of standard edition to get my armbands. Love the horrible explanations you give, Square, really.

Ok I'm pi$$ed. I registered FFXIII ages ago to do this and was under the impression that my linked accounts would be good enough for my armbands. I just finished the version update and seem good to go on the other two items but I cannot find this one. I never got an e-mail with a unique code...what do I do? ;-; ... or am I actually ok?

Well first time I put in the armbands code it took me back to the main account screen, so I tried again and that's when it told me I don't have a service account to link it to.

As for the FFXIII reg code, I think pretty much everyone got emailed a code when they had registered FFXIII on the SE members site. I think for NA it seems like you can view it again (on the SE members site?) - I can't find that option on the EU site though.

Nope, if you want them gotta remake the character unfortunatly. Its only for any NEW characters after codes been imputed

Here's a question - a friend of mine put in the code for the Onion Helm and has created his character, but forgot to link his pPlayonline account (he still plays XI actively) before he did so, so he only has the helm. If he deletes and remakes after linking his Playonline account, will he lose the helm forever?
