hey all, couldn't really find anything already written on the forums, but one posting on the square-enix site, so I thought I would post to confirm.

After updating, when the manager pops up, it gives me the maintenance screen and says it's not available. Is this the screen square-enix is putting up for the server congestion? or is everyone that is trying to get on getting this. Just confused because my roomate is upstairs playing now (jealous!) :D

Try clearing out your internet explorer history and cache then restart the client.

I put a lot of good vibes into clearing my cache, but didn't change the situation :(

how peculiar .. I'm not aware of any maintenence. Maybe a good ol' restart? I'm fresh out of ideas, hope you resolve it.

Thanks for the try! ^^ Tried restarting before, cleaning all comp. temp. files now, then try the reboot. See how it goes!

edit: restarting/clean comp. did nothing ^^

My problem is that the patch keeps stalling at 85.8% and then the downloader times out and tells me to restart it.

Well just now it finally started showing that I have over 200kb upload speed going, but my download speed is still 0.0B/s

Dang it! I'd really like to at least create my character before I have to go to bed!

=(

yeah, i've tried just about everything. The weird part is my room mate and I installed 10 minutes apart, he got in, and I didn't.

Yeah, it's weird how that works. I have a friend who always seems to have no problem downloading her updates to games, even though my computer is a better one than hers, and even her internet is crappy. Yet here I am with supposedly fast internet speed with some turbo boost thing and yet my patches take forever! Geez!

I have the same problem here, kinda starting to **** me off a little, what is the point in getting the game 8 days in advance and not be able to play it. I apologize if it seems as though I'm lashing out, just frustrated that I have to go to work soon and was really looking forward to playing. Hopefully this gets fixed/someone figures out a cure.

Got in! After many hours of searching and trying everything, I just started uninstalling/reinstalling everything that would have to do with FF. During some of my searching, I found that IE is used. I checked to make sure that I had the correct version, which I did, or so I thought! I had IE 8, but not the right one :p so, in my windows updates, the newest showed up. Installed it, and it worked! So, go try it! lol, if it works please let me know though, so others can know as well!

I don't seem to have any updates available for IE 8. I have version 8.0.7600.16385.

I've tried a bunch of stuff, but I always get a blank white area where the login web page is supposed to be.

I finally figured out my problem. I posted the solution in the thread I originally created for it. I'm not sure it is related to the other problems in this thread.
