Lost my bonus item?Follow

Hey guys, I input my item codes in, but didn't link my new active service account to my beta one so I have two. So I just notice my retail copy of the game doesn't have the bonus items under it.

Am I screwed? Or is there someway to fix this as you can't go into the option menu of the beta account.

Warning Regarding Transferal from Open Beta Test

If you happen to register new service account during the transferal from FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Test, you will not be able to transfer the Player Character name and obtain in-game bonus item.

If you participated in the FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta, a FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Service Account should be present under your SQUARE ENIX account. This FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Service Account can be transferred to the official release.
* Note that this FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Service Account by itself does not allow for play.

Once you enter the registration code included with your game, you will be able to choose whether you want to transfer your FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Service Account to the official release or if you want to create a new FINAL FANTASY XIV Service Account. Please take care not to select the option to create a new FINAL FANTASY XIV Service Account unless you wish to lose all character information tied to your FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Service Account.

Please be aware that if you register any bonus item codes to your FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Service Account, you will not be able to redeem those items unless you transfer that FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Service Account to the official release.

In case you have registered new service account by mistake, please wait until the application procedure on how to correct the registration is announced.

Not sure what that last bit quite means, but I think it means, if you messed up, wait until we announce how to sort it.

oooh bad news :(

I contacted SE earlier today just to make sure before I put in my codes. He said people who have accidently registered a new account and put in the item code on the beta account but did not tie those two accounts are out of luck for the time being.

He said they may have a service later where you fill an application to get it transferred, but I'm sure you don't want to wait to make a character :(

Sorry man.

How stupid that this can happen in the first place...

exactly, yeah lets let people unknowingly attach a retail item to a beta game... makes perfect sense.

Well it is SE we're talking about. I like them, but I swear from the perspective of a normal person they sure seem clueless most of the time. They fail to anticipate obvious problems, don't appear to think ahead most of the time, and a lot of their responses to issues seem to be knee-jerk or straight up winged.

I would only be surprised at this if I hadn't spent 5 years seeing the same kind of stuff when I played FFXI.

And to this day they still haven't figured out that a lot of the problems that occur on a regular basis could be avoided if they did some communicating with their customers.

It's not Square-Enix's fault that people can not take the 1 minute it took me(well less than a minute) to figure the wall-o-text on the add service page when it came to choosing new or pre-exsisting to choose the latter as that would contain my beta character name *etc* for transfer to retail.

I wish I could get parties of that standard. Sadly I seem to end up playing with myself all the time.
