Honestly, my biggest complaint at the moment is how short the maximum amount of characters you can send in a /tell is. On top of that, I find it frustrating to have to hit space bar before doing anything else. It's not like this is a new system, they've done it before. If it ain't broke, why fix it?

yes, hitting space is a pain in the ***. I played ffxi on full keyboard mode for >6 years, I cannot get used to this. Why the **** are so many basic things that they did in xi not in xiv?

Yes the amount of characters you can put in chat definitely needs to be raised.

I don't remember FFXI's /tells being all that long either, but it didn't stand out as an issue because it was very easy to follow up with a 2nd /tell.

The complaint is you have to hit the space bar first.

Also, is there no way to expand the chat log? If not, that sucks balls.

Yes, you can make the chat log as big or as small as you want and shift it all over the screen. Though I wonder if you can move the action bar now? I actually liked that in XI the chat log was big as it was. Now that I have my chat log to the side I sometimes forget to look at it.

Thats not what I mean.

Al'a XI, "+ > Enter" expanded the chat log, so you could read history. Or "+ > + > Enter". Whatever it was.

yea i really prefered the chat box in ffxi to the small junk you find in other mmos.

hitting spacebar should come naturally after a few days of doing it, only adds like half a second to typing time anyway lol

You can manually stretch it out, but meh.

Yeah, I think the chat limit is much smaller than in XI. And hitting the space bar is kinda annoying, but I can deal with it. But my personal gripe, is I got into the habit of hitting Alt R, which worked same as CTRL R. So I'm always 2nd guessing myself mid-stroke as I try to remind myself to hit spacebar, and then remember CTRL.

Also, I don't think CRTL R works unless you have sent a /tell to that person first. I tried to respond to a friend who sent me a tell when I first logged back in after a D/C, and I couldn't respond w/o picking his name out of my friend list (pain to type these full names, where's the "nickname" feature we were to have again?)

The one thing that baffles is me is that the name seems to be included in the /tell length or /say is longer. I said something in /say by accident and when I changed it to /tell, I had to split it up.

That's because the limit is actually on the length of the string you're able to put into the inputbox so because '/say' is shorter than '/tell Jimbob Smileypants' /say has a "longer" length limit
