Anima is like Chi or energy of some kind which allow you to use the Etherecite crystals.

This gets recharged at about 1 for every 4 hours or so (I think I read somewhere, might be wrong).

i heard it was 1 per 7 hours >.<, So confusing haha.

I ran out of it very easy during OB. SE are making us use our little legs **** them.

EDIT: you dont use anima if you are teleported by a party member. You just accept it

It might have been in the past but since the last update to Anima regeneration (along with reduced Leve cooldown) it went down to 4 I think.

If you remember the introduction to Eorzea from SE you will remember them saying that the over use of the Etherecite crystals can cause a person to react strange/get sick, maybe even die.

I think this is only to be used sparingly, maybe in comparison with FFXI as we would sometimes use deathport.

This is correct (or atleast was in closed/open beta)
In retail the devs said there were going to INCREASE anima regen... along with DRASTICALLY shorten leve refresh timers.

They apparently took Leve timer from 48 > 36 hr(not drastic in my opinion). I dont think anima regen has actually been tested and is not clearly stated on lodestone. But time may have gone down slightly.

25% decrease is pretty significant.

Also, with anima, what other game lets you teleport at level 1 on any job, and allows you to teleport others, even to places they haven't been, at level 1, for essentially free? Oh my god, I start with 100 points (25 near-range teleports) and I only refresh enough for 1.5 teleports per day?! The humanity!

Seriously, why are people upset over this?

I agree 100% with all the teleport comments you made. Low LVL tele anywhere as any class and take your party to places they never been - I think thats great.

My issue is with SE wording of the leve refresh and the change made. Their words were a "drastic" decrease in reset time. Also 36hr... when you think about it for most players (atleast those in school or working) makes no difference than 48hr.

So you play on Wednesday evening do 8 leves, Thurs goto work/school and come home (24hrs has passed) cant do leves yet cause you used them all up being greedy instead of doing a 4 and 4 split between 2 days but no biggie there are TONS of other things to do. Friday goto work [mid day 36hr mark shows up but ur at work/school so you cant do anything] Friday evening you log in [48hrs has passed] time to do some leves. Where as if it were 24hr... you could hvae done 3 sets in that time. Just how I see it. (for the record yes I know the leve timer is not based on when YOU start your first leve but rather on a timer set at the server, this was just an example/scenario to get a point across)

But i honestly think 36 or 48 is good enough... Do 4 regional 4 local everyday and you will never see a empty leve night. Ive been doing my leves like this since open beta and it works great.

Ya, anima recharge appears to have been increased from 1 every 6 hours to 1 every 4 hours. I did a little three city tour last night. I started in Ul'dah, dorked around for a little while and then ran to Gridania After a short while I ported back to Ul'dah (6 anima) and then ran the other way to LL. Did a bit of messing around there and when I went to port back to Ul'dah, I had already regained 1 anima. I just checked and I'm already back to 91/100 overnight after having spent 12 anima last night, so it's a solid improvement. In my case I made the trip hoping to find a levequest with a shield reward for my gladiator...no dice. Which means daily trips back until I find one (or have enough gil to buy one). That adds up in anima cost after a while.
