Rank SP during battle but no SP reward after the killFollow

Last night I was partying with LS. We were doing quite well with kills. Im watching as I nuke and spirit dart until my hearts content and I see the little text scrolling on my screen.

Conjuring skill up 80, 30, 150...

Then the mob dies and only see Experience points earned 200. I think to myself oh no biggie the text just didnt scroll I know I got my skillz. So we begin attacking the next mob I look at my rank points before battle add up the skill points the log says I will get once mob is defeated, exp shows up, no rank points show up. I check in my menu and I am not receiving the points that I should have according to the battle log.

Just wondering if any other folks have experienced the same thing. I really hope they fix this.

If it matters... we were in a 3 man party CON9(me) GLA9 LAN9. Fighting green moles/dodos near Drybone.

Please take all this info with a bit of salt as I have not experienced combat yet.

I remember reading here from someone that the SK you "received" at the end of combat was actually just a summary (addition) of the the skills you gained during the actual combat. As such maybe to prevent confusion SE has decided to only have the skill ups show once.

The way it actually works is what you see during battle is what you will potentially receive if you win the battle.
If you die you do not acquire those skillz as well as they are not applied during battle. Else folks would fight stuff and get skill points flee away. Let mob regen health then fight more and continue to skill up on the one mob.

So you acquire a tally through out the fight and are awarded the skill once the mob is defeated.

But my issue is that I would see the skill showing up in battle log so they should have been tallying but once enemy was killed I would not get the skills awarded to me.

Only the person who hit last will see all the SP earned by the party members. But do not worry, you DO get the SP.

You may be right... only the last hit may see the skills.
But in my menu before battle im showing 1500/2700 after kill (when i maybe saw 200 skill ups during battle) my menu still shows 1500/2700.

So I dont believe I was getting the skill ups.

Usually you do get the SP, but once in a while it does bug out and the SP is just, lost. But so far today and from my experience in Beta, you should get the SP most of the time even though it doesn't show at the end.

Also there was/is a bug/maybe not that if the monster is killed by Shock Spikes or Damage over Time skill and the like, you won't get the SP. Not sure.

I think you get the skill as you go, I ranked up mid fight after one of my spirit bolts hit a mob. It wasn't dead yet, barely half way actually, yet I ranked up right there instead of at the end of the fight.

Also to add to the original post, I think you always get physical xp at the end, but the class xp varies and sometimes you don't get any. That being said, you get class xp for actions throughout the battle, but physical xp only shows up at the end.

Hmmmm this was not my understanding but I will test tonight when I get home... stuck at work today behind a desk BOOOOOO!
Thanks for the responses everyone. It was late maybe I was mistaken, but I will confirm skill ups during battle when I log in tonight.

It would be easy enough to check, look at your XP before battle, then after you get a skill up open the menu and check again.

I'm fairly sure this is how it works, since I ranked up mid fight but had to wait until the battle was over to allocate my points and assign my new skills (yay Shock Spikes!) Smiley: thumbsup

Also stuck behind a desk today, otherwise I'd get on to confirm Smiley: frown

Thats the thing. I did that last night looked at skill points fought and earned points during battle but it did not show up after battle and it did not increase from before battle.

however, in fights where the skill ups tally properly and show at the end of battle i would see the increase in the menu.

I will verify.

You can confirm you still have the xp if you keep playing. For example, it works sometimes and you are now at 11,200/13,000. You win a battle and gain 250 SP. This should put you at 11,450/13,000, but in actuality you Rank up 'cause the server knows what you actually have and this is the next point where it had to sync up and tell you (maybe logging out/in works too idk).

The only thing to be concerned about really, is inactivity. If you don't do anything for an extended period, or if the mob goes yellow, then sometimes your SP tally is reset. I tried to confirm further and find out more about what events can liberate a current skill tally, but the game was just too boring so I uninstalled it :p

If this is true then I could care less. My only issue is when im 200 to rank up and i see myself killing something and I get 300 skill points during battle and I win and it still has 200 TNR.

If on the next kill i show another 200 SP and instead I am awarded 500 (200+300) thats fine by me.

I'm thinking you managed to kill something else before killing the mob you were currently attacking. Last night I was 50 TNL. I was fighting one thing got 150 points total but ended up dying due to lag. No rank up. I went back to fight again and got 100 points total before the fight ended and I did not level up till the end of the fight.

I won't say I don't believe you, but I'm not convinced yet Smiley: smile

I was in an area where there was nobody else, my send and receive were in the green, and the game was running beautifully. I can't imagine that this was a lag issue, especially since I was about halfway through fighting a mob that usually takes about a minute and a half to fight.

Hrmm. Yeah wouldn't make much sense for lag then. I have so far never seen it give me any of the points in a battle till the mob was dead and I was alive. Perhaps you casted cure, stoneskin, or some kind of buff that gives conjurer skill and it got applied immediately because those can be casted while outside of combat to get points. Although I have only gotten points for those spells once in OB.

FYI: If a mob dies from a DoT (poison, skull sunder DoT, etc) it will not show up on your log that you got any rank xp or physical xp, but if you actually look after the battle you DID receive whatever amount that was awarded.
