Guildleve vs grindFollow

Good afternoon everyone,

As I logged on to Wutai on the morning of release (fast install and very fast update/patching), I saw within an hour of playing someone ding 13 physical. I sent him a /tell asking how he got there so fast and he replied in auto-translate "[party][guildleve] :)". Now I've tried a few of those and I did not get what I'd call impressive exp/skill rewards. Here are a few questions for you all:

1) When making a party for guildleve or grinding, how do you pick people? Do you have to go by class level (which is the only thing you see when you check someone)?

2) Is there a search function like "/sea all conjurer 5-8"?

3) Guildleve in, for example, Camp Bentbranch, as shown as rank 1, yet if I tried to solo such a leve on 1 star, I would die. How do you know if you're strong enough for a leve other than trying it? On the flip side, I made a random group where we were doing those same rank 1 level but on 5 star and it was waaaay too easy.

Thanks for your time and insight! :)

I solo'd rank 1 guildleve at rank 3/4 on party difficulty no problem. At rank 6/7 I did troop difficulty and it was fairly easy.

You get lots of physical exp doing crafting guildleves. Usually around 1000 each synthesis sometimes close to 2000 depending on difficulty.

/sea function would be nice

I'm not in game yet. But here's an attempt at answering your question based on everything I read:

1) When making a party for guildleve or grinding, how do you pick people? Do you have to go by class level (which is the only thing you see when you check someone)? - class level is the only level that matters for the sake of exp, similar levels etc. So yes.

2) Is there a search function like "/sea all conjurer 5-8"? - not sea all, but you can go into the party function and look at everyone looking for party or group leaders that are starting a party and the stated function of said party, exp grind or leves etc.

- Bentbranch's quest that involves fungar and poison is pretty hard, the rest should be doable on 1 star. And yes the star system isn't very good guidance, if you have 5 that's too many people. 2 people for Bentbranch is just fine, normally I solo it. (OB experience)

The one time I tried doing a leve in a party, it took us 30 minutes to realise that party invites were borked. Lag, bug, whatever - we tried everything.

I see people with shiny armour - I want that too! But, considering that it's about 48 hours after it launched, and taking into account that I am the worst MMO player in the world (I can't see a horizon without wondering what's on the other side - I spend most of my time exploring and not hitting things with my axe!) I will probably find SE players that are higher level than me in two weeks time.

It's all about the journey! Which, in my case, is a slow but enjoyable one :)

tbh, i think they buffed guildleve exp, because when i first logged in and did the first 4 (+1 from main quest) guild leves, I hit rank 6 conj. I remember it taking a few hours in beta to hit rank 6. So after 2 maybe 3 hours of grinding after that, I hit rank 10. I didn't do any other guildleves or anything.

When you say 'junk', do you mean like those Chinese boats with the fancy sails?
