Hello all;
Well, in regards to stability everything has been great. I do have some questions though, and there are a couple things I dislike. I am gonig to be readin up and looking for the answers to my questions, but in case I can't find them.....

Game specs:
Resolution: 1920x1080
Multisampling: 8xQ MSAA
Buffer Size: Resolution
Shadow detail: Highest
Ambient: Off
Depth of field: Off
Texture Quality: High
Texture Filtering: Off

All in game settings are on except physics . I average 60fps at all times except for big crowds where I get 30-40. If I turn ambient on my FPS drops by 30-40. If I change the buffer size to douple, my FPS is below 30(unplayable). Not getting any Mouse or UI menu lag. Hardware mouse on.

I7 920 4.0
GTX 480 SC(Latest WHQL driver)
DDR3 6gig

When I target a mob, or ally I wish I could just press the number and the spell would begin. I dislike having to press enter after spells. Seems like a unnecessary step.

Botanist: I have to read up more on this, but I wish it was more mouse friendly.

Same thing with nodes, are there binds I can use to access it, or do I have to click the icon on the top of the screen every time?

I do not understand exchanging Levequest. I completed all the Battleleves I could find, so I switched to Botany to gain more XP as I did not want to grind today, but when I aquired those quest I was given the option to exchange the battleleves I have already done.

Anyone else noticing sometimes mob strength indicators(color) are to weak sometimes.

In regards to markets. I forget the details but when I went to enter a certain part of town it gave me the option to port to 5-8 different markets. There are for our retainers I assume, but they expect us to port to eight different markets to look for goods we may want? Seems a bit much.

Thanks all, off to read during downtime :)

What do any of your issues have to do with your computer specs or even frames per second? o.O

I don't think ambient occlusion is working for anyone.

I know you are looking for a reason to rage on someone obviously by your post, but the title states Impressions and Questions. Its good info for people who may be having a issue. I tried to help out and ask questions, you could have been helpful and answered a couple or one.

It looks like it will work very very nice, but the FPS drop is pretty rough.

All the "!"'s like when you're at an aetheryte or for the gathering nodes can also be accessed through the main menu which may be quicker. I play on a controller and kinda have to do it that way, but usually when you open the main menu it will start you on that new option. So whatever button for main menu + confirm button should do it...

I spent half the post reading your PC specs, then the other half trying to figure out what this has to do with the first half. And no, I'm not looking to rage lol. I'm not even sure what that means. I'm enjoying this downtime and eating some lunch. Try and make a coherent post so people can help you better is all I'm trying to say.

Other people are having no problem getting my point. You still could have answered a question. Enjoy the day :)
*Oh BTW. It was only 3 lines of PC specs.

Agreed.

Also if you try to play the whole game through your mouse you will probably get annoyed. Accessing nodes and doing botany should be done through the keyboard or a gamepad unless you like swishing your mouse around clicking buttons and icons.

When it comes to sitting around not doing anything for long periods of time, only being active for short windows, and marginal changes and sidegrades I'd say FFXI players were the perfect choice for politicians.

Well it is a PC game. I am sure over time it will be implemented more. Probably have a bunch of other priorities.

In regards to Ambient Occlusion, as I understand it the feature won't stop being such a resource hog until games are fully programmed using DirectX 11 (FFXIV is DirectX 9 as are many games of the last number of years). I wouldn't be surprised if we have to wait another generation or 2 of GPUs to come out before we can leave the option on with minimal lag in DirectX 9 titles.
