While many of my friends made it in before the cut-off, plenty of others are getting frustrated and just starting elsewhere, which sucks!

I'm fairly certain this is just an attempt to funnel players into less populated servers, but there should at least be a World Pass type system to pull one's friends through to join us, seriously. -_-

I'm hoping for confirmation that S-E acknowledged that this is only a brief occurrence (unless it's back open and I had no clue), because I bought this game to play with friends, and they aren't really handling this very well...

Sorry, need to replace the batteries on my crystal ball :)

Sarcasm aside, no one knows. Wishful thinking states they will be closed until about a week after retail or sometime during then.

"We previously informed you that character creation on certain worlds had been suspended, but we are pleased to announce that character creation on the Cornelia World, Gysahl World, Mysidia World, Figaro World, Selbina World, Lindblum World has now been reinstated as the congestion in these worlds has eased up.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused."

That's the most recent update.

Keep an eye on the Information area of Lodestone:

They post updates as servers are locked and unlocked. Some sites that were locked the first day were available later, so they may open and close them periodically.
