I just d/c'd while on the Ferry to Limsa, with a Hume F on board. We had just got the message saying we will be arriving shortly. When I finally managed to get back online, after resetting router, I logged on right to where I was, same message, with her gone, and different people on the ship. Ferries instanced??

The same thing happened in FFXI when you disconnected on a ferry or airship.

When I d/c'd on XI, I ended up where I was going, unless I immediatly logged on. But I never logged on to being on the ship with different people. Ever. Unless you logged on exactly 10 minutes from where you logged off, that couldn't happen in XI.

It makes sense. Why should your character get to "live" while you're offline? (lol, ok it doesn't really make sense, but yeah..)

I had this happen once too, and the strange part was that the ferry ride took a total of about 25 minutes when it should have been 15, so perhaps you just log in to the "ferry to (wherever)" and then it arrives when it normally would, even if you were only 30 seconds away when you got disconnected..
