So i see a place in Gridinia area called the Tam-Tara deepcroft. I decided i'd run in there and take a look around. I noticed all the mobs were higher level, but i got no aggro.
So i run in a little deeper, and i see a Miqo'te standing there and i thought to my self: "Toad Poacher, heh .. that's an odd name."
I stand there for a sec to check my map, then, in my chat box:
"The toad poacher's Throw hits you for 1048 points of damage."
"Select the Return option from the main menu to revive at your home point."

Hmm, that's no PC Miqo'te lol

/facepalm

Ha, I got one-shot killed by a rat in there if it is the same place I'm thinking of. How were you able to tell the mobs were higher level?

Made Copper Nuggets out of Ore on my goldsmith while skilling up. Then wanted to make some other bits and bobs but needed Copper Ingots for it. Checked the ZAM recipe and saw that blacksmith and armoursmith make them. Grab a blacksmith hammer and make them. Then I check lodestone recipe list and see that goldsmith can make them as well!

I got to like level 6 blacksmith just making all those **** ingots >.> skill wasted! Or not wasted, but not really needed right now :p

There is a con system. It's a color/shape code, and the were all red devil (that's what the shape looks like to me) to me which is IT++.

Some of the mobs didn't display that color dot thingy for me, probably due to glitch or lag.

My /facepalm moment: Saw a player named Kains Highwind. And he was a Lancer. I mean...really?

If the mob is invalid (read: part of someone else's guildleve) then you won't get a toughness rating on them.

I was in a pt doing Revenge of the Dodos, and I told everyone in the party the last Dodo was an Ackbar, and not to chase it or we would all die. Of course, they ignored me and went ahead chasing the dodo, and soon enough I see all of their health bars drop to 0, "lulz, I think we all died" "hahaha, yup wipe" "Oh they are following us back to camp," we ended up losing that one. /facepalm

Though to be fair, they all told me to do it on 3 star, and I did on 4-star secretly, because I was confident we could still win. So it would also be appropriate if they /facepalm'd me as well.

Why do people choose such ridiculous names? I understood for beta, but for the real deal, why choose names such as <insert silly names you've seen here>? I don't get it..

I think names are the same as clothes, a means of expression. Some people like to express themselves in silly ways. The ones I hate are like "Name Less" "No Name" etc. At least you should try.

Running past a Gobbue I'm telling my linkshell over vent, "We definitely don't want to mess with this, but thankfully they don't aggro, although I've heard that if you /poke them they will kill you which is amusing..."

"The gobbue hits your for 3663 points of damage."
"Select the Return option from the main menu to revive at your home point."

OK, so maybe they do aggro if you run too close to them...

My favorite WTF moment is crafting in a camp as a Lala, when some clueless, big-*** Roe will come in literally right on top of you to start his craft. His forearm is bigger than your entire body!

I saw someone else's /facepalm.

I was running through the woods and ran into these Raptor looking creatures. I stopped and took a step back wondering if they would aggro. I was about to try it myself when I saw a lalafell in an Onion Helmet running my way.

I paused watching what he would do.... I silently urged him to go for it!

He paused as well, but got a little too close and WHACK 4600 DAMAGE.

:D

I ran off another direction.

1000 Needles.... later, "Select the Return option from the main menu to revive at your home point."

In Beta, I had done the Leve for Mother's Cookies in Gridania Twice.

When I go to do it this time around, I walk all the way back to Gridania and try to turn the cookies in to Miounne, instead of the captain at the camp.

Wasted Anima ftw.

I'm so glad I read this post earlier today - I just went on a random walk just now without looking at the map, not far from Gridania. Down lots of steps nothing aggro yet... then I saw Toad Poacher in the distance. I couldn't get out of there fast enough! (I was equipped as a BOT as well :P)

LOL these are all funny stories! My first face palm was when I tried to equip a weapon and setup my skills on a skillbar. It took me literally over 2 minutes because of the UI lag. Complete retardation which made me FACEPALM.
