My Issues with FFXIVFollow

I love the graphics in ffxiv and i like how its similar to ffxi since I played ffxi for a long time and loved it.

I've been wanting to make a white mage type class so I chose Conjurer. However, conjurer is basically just a red mage; where the focus is split to healing and damage spells.

I've gotten skill points like 3 times from casting cure whereas my party members are constantly getting skill points because they're melee classes. If I spam attack spells, I'll get pretty good skill points.

So FFXIV is forcing me to not be a healer but instead a black mage? I don't want to be a black mage...

Also, this game seems very focused on crafting and I have never participated in crafting in any mmorpg I've ever played. Theres no auction houses and the market wards are filled with people selling useless crap, I felt like the luckiest person in the world when I found someone selling a maple wand. In FFXI I was always able to easily upgrade my gear because of the auction house, now I have to search for hours to get an item thats meant for rank 7 when I'm rank 15.

Lastly, no one wants to party to grind out exp. In fact Square Enix doesn't even let you search for party members now. The only time people will join my party is if I have levequests. The best part of FFXI was that once you got to like level 10-15 you were basically forced to join parties. Everyone wanted to be in a party and being a white mage I was getting party invites seconds after logging in. Due to this I met a lot of people and grinding was actually fun. I feel like what I loved about FFXI is gone from FFXIV.

I totally agree with everything you said.

There is not a sense of community like there was in XI and that was nice to have.

No one is talkig to each other on my server, I could ask a silly question and i'm ignored which is sad because in XI everyone would give you an answer.

Perhaps, but even if its just general chat, that seems to be quite difficult.

I just want some interaction. :)

Some of this is "early game everyone still getting their bearings"

Some of it is few people group so few people socialize, hopefully there is more group content later ( I don't mean you "can" if you "want" but real group content or incentive to do so)

Lack of easily useable searches/invites stamps out some of those even interested in parties.

And of course, part of this is the retainer system...still sucks. We need an AH or a search function for this to work, I rubbed through all 3 cities retainer dungeons but I doubt many other people have the patience to do the same. Honestly this is my biggest problem right, it is absolutely critical this gets fixed or crafting will get very boned very soon as it becomes difficult to keep all crafts up to the right levels to make the items you need to continue skilling up.

Also I dislike the random skill ups as your main progression, I hate doing a whole guild leve and getting 0 skill, that's frustrating.

With all that said I'm still having a lot of fun and look forward to what they do in future patches, got my main three classes to 10 today :)
