I love the graphics in ffxiv and i like how its similar to ffxi since I played ffxi for a long time and loved it.
I've been wanting to make a white mage type class so I chose Conjurer. However, conjurer is basically just a red mage; where the focus is split to healing and damage spells.
I've gotten skill points like 3 times from casting cure whereas my party members are constantly getting skill points because they're melee classes. If I spam attack spells, I'll get pretty good skill points.
So FFXIV is forcing me to not be a healer but instead a black mage? I don't want to be a black mage...
Also, this game seems very focused on crafting and I have never participated in crafting in any mmorpg I've ever played. Theres no auction houses and the market wards are filled with people selling useless crap, I felt like the luckiest person in the world when I found someone selling a maple wand. In FFXI I was always able to easily upgrade my gear because of the auction house, now I have to search for hours to get an item thats meant for rank 7 when I'm rank 15.
Lastly, no one wants to party to grind out exp. In fact Square Enix doesn't even let you search for party members now. The only time people will join my party is if I have levequests. The best part of FFXI was that once you got to like level 10-15 you were basically forced to join parties. Everyone wanted to be in a party and being a white mage I was getting party invites seconds after logging in. Due to this I met a lot of people and grinding was actually fun. I feel like what I loved about FFXI is gone from FFXIV.
