$2.50 charge from Clicktobuy?Follow

This charge is pending in my checking account that I keep close tabs on, which means it will post today or tomorrow. What happened with the free 30 days? And why $2.50, that seems to be a weird amount. When I confirmed my first month's charges with Square-Enix, it clearly said it was $0.00 after the first-month-free discount even with the extra character slots.

Did I miss something?

Great. So does that mean every month I'll be charged an extra $2.50? Thanks, SE. Way to sell your customers out.

When I set up my stupid CaB account they took the same amount, well, 2 amounts equaling 2.50, as an account verification. I had to log into my CaB account and enter the 2 amounts to "verify" my account. The 2.50 is credited to my account so when the monthly fees go thru for FFXIV, they will only take 10.00 and some change from my CC account, or something like that.

I'll reserve my judgement until I find out if it's an "account-test" fee or not, then. Thanks.

The UK T&Cs are similar, and having read through it is clear that the fee in the T&Cs is for withdrawals from the C&B account by you, in other words, you can add funds to the C&B account, but if you want them back, there is an admin charge.
For payments to any merchant you are buying services from the merchant pays a fee for the payment of services.

I suggest you read through again, carefully, because this appears to be the same for US T&Cs going by what you have pasted above.

As with others C&B have made 2 withdrawals for odd amounts from my card account, I have verified my card by entering these values on a form on their website (note, go to clickandbuy.com to do this, not through SE account management) however, they don't make these withdrawals unless you authorise them first.

this is what CaB site says for me................. i just dont kn ow if we havae to verify if that is doing any good for us

Your ClickandBuy account is currently unverified. A verified ClickandBuy account provides an additional measure of security and gives you higher spending limits, more payment choices, and lower fees.

To verify your ClickandBuy account, you must have a credit card registered with ClickandBuy. Then you need to confirm this credit card

Confirming your credit card
This one-time process will upgrade your ClickandBuy account to Verified status. A verified account provides an additional measure of security and gives you higher spending limits, more payment choices, and lower fees.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FREE within 3 business days
1. Your credit card will be charged two random amounts between 1.00 and 1.99 USD.
2. Call your bank or check your credit card statement for these amounts (may take up to 3 business days).
3. Enter these amounts on the credit card confirmation page (on the Settings tab in your ClickandBuy account) within 60 days to finish confirmation.
4. The two amounts are credited to your ClickandBuy account

Glad I read through this thread. I completely missed the step to verify my credit card. Hopefully the $2.50 charge is just a one time thing.

I recommend you guys use the Game Cards instead.

*My brother and I did not get the $2.50 charge
*It shows on your FFXIV account how much Crysta(credit use on FFXIV official site)

We bought the $20 Game Card at Gamestop. Used it at the FFXIV site for Crysta and then just verify payment for the month. *note: it also show that we have a month free, or the 30 days that the CE comes with.

Before you speak out your *** again know what its there for. Click&Buy charges you a few times to verify the transactions are going through and then they charge back your card.

just called CaB and they guy told me when you enter a card its auto charged the 2.50 and then CaB cancels it so mine has gone through already..

NOW the card verification is a diffrent process that is not needed for square enix

so once you create your CaB account there is nothing else needed to be done

Well, thank you to all the replies. I feel a little better, now. It's hard to read all the fine print when there's a game you want to start playing right away, haha.

And to the people who marked down my OP, you're being silly. I'm sure I'm not the only one who will question this.

The orginial $2.50 charge was dropped off my account but my bank did charge me two .50 charges for International something or other... Keep an eye out on this... Bad SE bad... Make me wonder if I'm going to get charged an extra .50 fee every month whent hey charge my card... We will have to wait and see and if they do... Well... I'll deal with that then.

I don't think they are rating you down because of your questions. More like that there are already a few different theads on this forum if you look though the last few pages that explain this as well. While I couldn't care less some people get annoyed when people post things that have already been answered in other threads a few times. Something about Smiley: deadhorse.

Sometimes I wonder if SE has an administration division, or if the designers just sign the company up with whatever telemarketers call them for.

Oh come on people, learn to read and use your god **** brains for once. Click an Buy is the same as Paypal. No hidden fees.

The charge you talk about has been withdrawn and immediatly put back into your account and is only used to verify your CC is working.

How some of you people survive is puzzling me.

Except.. Paypal doesn't have a humongous list of fraudulent charges in their history.. OH that's right because CLICKANDBUY is less secure... know your history..

Just to reiterate what has already been mentioned -

CAB does NOT take out $2.50 - They simply are testing if they can take money out, it will be credited back to your account within 3-5 business days.

What he said, it's just to be sure that it's a real account with money in it, you get refunded within a day or two

Also wanted to add that C&B verification isn't even required.
According to their website all it's for is for added security and to secure
a higher spending limit on your acct.

I didn't even bother to verify.
