I've no trouble in leveling my crafts? Melee? Not so much...Follow

I've been having a blast in XIV so far, and just hit Physical Level 12. My Mining is at Rank 8, and my Goldsmith is at Rank 7. That said, my Marauder is at Rank 8, and I'm really having difficulty finding a steady way to increase it further. Seeing as I can only do 8 Guildleves every 36 hours, to my knowledge, finding other ways has been a chore, at best.

There simply aren't enough trash mobs around to grind on, and even when I do happen across one, the EXP gained is rather insignificant.

Am I missing something? Are there other ways to find a healthy stream of enemies to level my Marauder on? I honestly never thought my crafts would ever be close to exceeding my main melee job. >_<

Thanks!

Crafting is alot easier to level, esp with local leves. I got carpenter up to 7 in 4 leves that I did no problem. For the DOM/DOW, its because its hard to find a good supply of mobs to kill. Last night even the remote off the wall camps I had learned of in beta for level 6-9 were camped.

Sure there are ways.
You could find yourself a nice remote camp with enough mobs to fight nonstop and few other players going there. Most people stick to the area close to the camps and don't go explore to find other spots.
Another way would be to party up and kill some of the harder stuff for better Exp.

Oh and the Exp on crafts will decrease too so don't worry about that ^^

It's **** near impossible to get people to party up. Everyone would rather run off and fight for a random mob pop then go fight stuff noone is killing.

Took me 10min to convince 2 guys, that 3 of us chaining dodos would be better xp than the two of them killing the random mammot ... once we started and got rolling they couldnt believe the xp and skill ups.

Folks just need to be shown the benefits of partying. Which I am sure we will see more of as people reach 15+ Rank.
