Since I started I've been pretty bummed that you can't chat while fighting, and still deal damage to the monster, so I finally made this macro.

/action "Spirit Dart" <t>
/wait 2.5
/action "Spirit Dart" <t>
/wait 2.5
/action "Spirit Dart" <t>
/wait 2.5
/action "Spirit Dart" <t>
/wait 2.5
/action Radiance <t>
/echo done

You will have to adjust the ability names and wait times on each job, but it will give you ~10 seconds to chat while still dealing damage to the monster. You can also interrupt it at anytime to use another ability.

I've heard that in macros, actions will wait until completion before executing the next one.

I have yet to try this out for myself (waiting on regular edition), but you could probably remove the /waits and it would still work if that's true.

(edit) Now that I think about it more though, I'm assuming the /wait is to account for the cool down before you can use the move again and/or allowing the stamina bar to regen a bit, yes?

From my experiments only 1 ability will 'queue' up behind the one you are currently using. So for example you could do this...

/action "Light Strike" <t>
/action "Light Strike" <t>

and that would work, but if you...

/action "Light Strike" <t>
/action "Light Strike" <t>
/action "Light Strike" <t>

The first two would go off, but the 3rd would error.
