When does this game ....Follow

Okay this is a question that im goign to relate back to FFXI because well I know FFXI and I played it for 4 years and most people on these forums played the game.

When does this game really pick up in Party style play. Like at 10-11 in FFXI you would venture to the Dunes and look for a group to start group combat / grinding. I only played beta for like 3-4 hours cause I wanted this game to be fresh.

If anyone could just lay out an answer for me I dont want to know your grinding area or where I should go just what level should I start looking to do group grinding or should I just solo level ( which I hope is not the case ) because the Group partying aspect of FFXI was one of my favorite features of the game I just hope they have not fully abandonded it in this game.

I'm gonna go ahead and say when people start actually talking and partying in game and at camps instead of keeping all secretive and seclusive to themselves trying to be the first one to do so and so.

I have no idea. I don't understand the party system at all. When I tried it, I actually invited myself to a party, bang... there I was, in a party ... not even invited by the leader LOL. I never did anything with the party because they were so far away, we just disbanded.

Something you should understand, is that in FFXI there were already an existing culture and and economy. People knew where to go cause the Japaneese players had it all figured out.

Right now, this is a global releace, everyone is new at this and nobody knows or has figured out the best way to do things as of yet (though that's going to continually change and develop.)

Right now I'd have to say the best way to do group play is to get your friends together and do levequests at harder difficulties.

Party play will likely take a backseat throughout the game until SE impliments something specificly for Party play. Right now it's more or less interchangeable.

IMO, for all the great group dynamics FFXI had, it was horrible that it was a requisite for almost everything. I'm glad they started with more solo-orientated apporach to start. Though I too will like to see how the party play develops as it goes along.

I find myself wondering the same thing. I used to think that I didn't like the forced-grouping aspect of FFXI. Though now, after years of playing other MMOs and doing nothing but soloing, I find I liked the group leveling in FFXI. It was probably the best feature of the game. Hopefully it will be the same in FFXIV.

Flix is right for the most part.

I think because there is no set "levelling area" and we don't know enough about the game to
be able to pt adequately except for when doing leve's. This might take 4-8 weeks and information
makes its way to forums and wiki's.

For now enjoy the game and early quests and story line. Get comfortable with a classes and by then you'll
have made some friends and people will be more open.

Pt play will a factor more when people want to take down red monsters and stuff like that.
