Updater not installing patchesFollow

The updater DLs the patches. Then it checks the patch, and instead of closing to install the patch... it just closes the updater and nothing happens. Tried reinstalling. Tried restarting. Tried deleting the My Games data, still happens. Any ideas why it's not patching the game? I have the .patch files but the updater isn't patching them.

Perhaps you downloaded the patches manually and messed up in placing them .
try with run as admin?

When mine does that, occasionally theres a huge lag before windows has the pop up asking if the program has permission to make changes to my PC. Which is odd because I have UAC turned off, but I suppose one of my settings elsewhere is still on. Either way that's what does it to me.

I believe I'm having a similar problem. My husband and I have identical systems, so I know this problem can't have anything to do system wise. But I have installed the CE and spent all night with the updater dl'ing the patch(es). So I woke up several days ago to the patcher being gone, so I thought it had finished so I opened the FFVIX and the updater pops up, says "Preparing to Download version update files" the runs from 0-100% in about 3 seconds and says "Finishing download" and then the updater disappears. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, same problem. I have no old beta files, nothing. Also if I go to the FFXIV file I have all the same files in it as my husband except the ffxivlogin. I have searched and searched, trying everything I can find that might relate, and still I have the same problem. I have now installed and uninstalled about 6 times, and I'm almost as the point of not caring anymore. I have run it as admin and that makes no difference either. Any help with this would be very appreciated.

Well I got ffxivupdater.exe and ffxivboot.exe with boot.ver from a friend, and it works. I think my ffxivupdater.exe was bad.
