Umm.... So does ff14 make you group up into a party and grind your level's like ff11?

So far from what I played in beta, no. However, right now it's really...REALLY buggie. My hubie and I just tried to party and do a guildleve quest and had issues with targeting and engaging the mob. Hopefully they will iron things out soon.

Partying is actually a great way to get XP. I mean partying and grinding together, not even doing leves. My LS and I experimented with this today. Basically go out and find a mob that is VT/IT to you that you can pretty much solo, then grab a 2nd person around your rank and you'll get a good amount of XP and Skill Points. You also get skill point bonuses every now and then when a mob dies. It'll look like you've gained skill points twice in the log...and no, it's not gaining X then figuring out the total, its an actual bonus and you get both of the numbers it displays.
