i have a question about attribute points.

basically, ive accumulated a bunch so far and havent spent them. like any other game that uses player choice when picking what to upgrade, i want to make sure i dont ***** up my character.

however i did notice a button for reasignment. so what i want to ask is, if i pick my attributes and elemental stats, can i reset them later? maybe if i want to play a melee i can pick str instead? how exactly does it work in 14?

Yes. You can reset them later.

Every 30 minutes you get an option to reset about 25% of them.

Try to go for a fairly balanced stat distribution though. There are soft caps for each stat, and I believe the first one is 40 points. After 40 points, it takes 2 credits to gain another attribute point. Once you get your most important stats to 40, and build up your less important stats to 30ish or so, then continue forward.

ya, but it's not practical to make people wait 2 hours so i can outfit myself properly for a class change. 25% is alright though i guess. thats still alot of points to play with.

I guess it depends on if you were planning to play X class one day and be specced for it then Y class the next and be specced for it or prefer to just run around gimp at all classes and play 6 a day.

ya you have a point. but in ffXI i often had to go as a DD for certain sky gods, change to BRD for kirin, then einherjar in the same day so back to DD, and depending on the situation if people DC or leave i had to change to tank...i wouldn't have the chance to wait to change my stats like that lol.

i think my worst day for that was we went to sky: SAM (sky gods) -> BRD (kirin) -> NIN (tank dc) -> BRD (tank finally came back) -> SAM (einherjar)

we dont want a wow clone, but making me pay for time that i cant get expirience b/c SE says "i've been playing too long" and thats the way my real life schedule should be? This games gonna fail unless they add an Auction house, get rid of leveling limitations, and get NPc's to load in less than 4 minutes. And dont blame my comp. My comp is awesome. So is my internet connection.

Gonna force me to change to another class b/c i cant get expirience, but then make me wait 2 hours to reset all my stats? Maybe i should run around town looking through people's bazaar's randomly, assuming they can load and i can access the menues of people without having to wait 10 seconds for each screen to pop up. Oh wait...

I think like many people, i really want this game to work. And maybe it will. But atm? they have changed so many things that have developed from popular demand in like every MMO, that i very much doubt the main chunk of people will remain playing it when Starwars comes out. If i wasnt so tired of ffxi, and starwars was already out, i wouldnt play for sure.

There's a reason wow was so successful. And the selling point of this game was a mix of ff11 and wow. But its not. It's its own orphan baby. The main problem with this game though isn't the mechanics, its the loading times. Players fight screen loading times and wait for NPC's to pop, have to run back to and fro between these largely populated areas for repairs, and wait on real life time before they can fully benefit leveling a skill... If SE made us pay for more time where we cant actually play the game, we would be paying them to sleep. Oh wait, i kinda already am, b/c i have to go to sleep before i can level the job i want to more. Thanks for being my mom SE, im too stupid to organize my own life apparently.
