Just a quick question regarding shields.

Thaumaturge's obviously can use shields as well as Gladiator's since the scepter is a one hand weapon. However, Thaumaturge do not have a "blocking" or "shield" skill like Gladiator's do. Do you need to level up Gladiator to make the shield worth while to Thaumaturge's? Or does it not matter?

I just saw that it automatically added this skill to my action bar. Thanks!

I don't want to hijack this post at all but I tried using a shield when I was playing THM a while ago and I found that when activated my TP would reduce drastically, much more than without using the shield. Has this changed in retail at all? I found this quite significant because even though a THM can use a shield because they use one-handed weapons, they also need to use damnation quite a lot too (depending on what they are fighting). When I had a shield equiped and was using it I could hardly ever generate enough tp to get Damnation off enough so I threw it.

You forget the best part of it. Whenever you successfully block an incoming attack, your
stamina gauge decreases quite a bit. So using a shield = havin less stamina to cast spells
or attack. ^.^/ Don't tell me you never noticed?

Shield is primarily for party play, where a Glad has to concentrate on deflecting (not dealing)
damage. A THM using a shield in solo play just effectively cripples his ability to attack.
