My boyfriend is thinking of playing XIV.

He's not really a gamer so this is great news for me. Yay!

The question is how can I let him play on my PC before we can play simultaneously when the ps3 version arrives?

If he creates another character on my SE account will he be able to play it at the same time as I log on via ps3 using the same account?

Does he have to set up a separate SE account and thus pay the full monthly fee for joining me?

What about the game, can he use the same game installed on my computer or do I have to buy a new copy just to get the registration codes?

I'm hoping I don't have to install 2 games because that would be just weird.

Any info on the matter would be greatly appreciated! =D

No, he will need his own account if you wish to play at the same time. Only one character per account can be logged in at any given moment.

no you will need seperate games, but only because of the activation code, not the data itself

If you bought the Collector's Edition you could get him started with his own account for 30 days. After that he'll need to buy the game.

What he said. If you bought the CE, your boyfriend can use the buddy pass for 30 days free. He will still need his own key account and key to play though.

Thank you all for the info.

I have the buddy pass.

Now I'll just have to cross my fingers and pray he gets a huge addiction. (I'm such a terrible person!)
