What are the specs of your current PC. You could potentially save a lot by simply upgrading if it's possible.

I think that the same computer could easily be built for less money. A better one for the same.

Three things:

1) Retail prefabs are horribly overpriced. You're spending an extra 15-35% on top of what the parts are worth individually.
2) You may be able to just upgrade what you have.
3) I don't see GPU specs listed. I have a feeling the GPU is something terrible like a 5650 or something, let me look into it.

Follow up: It says it has a 5770, which is pretty good. 500W power supply, which is lower than I'd be comfortable with, but it will manage. You could probably build a better system yourself, or even customize one through cyberpower/ibuypower for far less though.

If you're okay with overpaying by about $200-300, it should be okay, performance wise. I'd still recommend either upgrading what you have or going the custom route.

No, I meant the one you linked in the OP, not what you have now. Truth be told though, if your current motherboard supprts AM3, you're probably better off just buying a Phenom II X4 965 and a Radeon 5770 or higher, possibly a new PSU if your current one is crap.

I looked into it and yeah, you could probably just buy:

One of these processors

One of these GPUs

And one of these PSUs

And just upgrade what you have for far cheaper.

If you do build a computer DO NOT PURCHASE a 5000 series Radeon video card until after next month. It is rumored from many, many sources that AMD is releasing the first of the 6000 series of video cards starting Oct 12. This will no doubt cause a price drop in the 5000 series.
