So I been walking around all day with a red gear icon, and no matter how many times i check, or get the npc to repair me, it's still there.

I have a look at all my gear and it still seems to be at least 2/3 durability remaining on everything. What's the deal, really ******* me off.

did you check for skidmarks in your undergarments? ,, they can be very resilient and withstand most laundry detergents.

anyways i had the same problem but after i changed a few pieces of equipment out it went away and i never thought about it again. so maybe its a glitch or something.

I just took everything off, still there.

The only thing i have on is underwear and they're all 4000/5000.

It's ******* me off because now I wont know when gear is ACTUALLY damaged... Real useful SE.

what exactly does the icon say when you click on it. also i know you cant take your weapon off so did you change weapons/change jobs to see if it would go away?

I took everything off and swapped weapon.

It's the red gear icon that says "some (thanks for the details) gear has been heavily damaged and effectiveness drastically reduced". The normal red icon...

i had the same problem..

i went to the repair lady paid 3,000 gil to repair my items

still had red mark

Went back paid another 2,000 gil to repair items

atm ive spent 15,000 gil tryin to remove the red mark

then i crashed, couldnt log in for 2 hours, and now i got no redmark, still missing 15,000 gil and my weapon has vanished from my hands and i cant equip anything or change skill

i am stuck in botany, but cant use any skills, or synthesize. so far this is the second bug ive encountered..

first is disapearing skills from action bar (while it says its already equipped) this is easily fixed by switchin to a different job!

NPC repair does only raise it up to 75%. So at a certain point, you may need to replace items and/or seek out a player to raise 1 or 2 items to 100% to counter-balance. It's likely a % thing of sorts.

The NPC won't repair jewelry either, need to do it yourself or find someone.

This is probably the reason for the huge spike in goldsmiths..

That's also the answer to OP: Your accessories.

Really, most people forgot about accessories. They can be damaged, they can't be repaired by NPC, it's not the undies fault (In Beta around near the end the undies were repairable).

I have the same problem and determined that the problem is my underwear.
It seems though that you can only repair what you are not wearing atm and I can't seem to take my underwear off :)

So do I first have to buy (where?) or make myself a new pair of underwears?
