Another one to add to the list -

The airship pilot doesn't serve any purpose. When you talk to him, he just spews some dialogue.
Why does he not tell me how much time is left on the journey?

It was in FFXI because it was a good game play decision.

To anyone who reads this: could you check your in-game volume configuration and see if changing the "Sound Effects" volume has any impact on the sound effects?

Not sure how to describe this, so I'm just going to throw lots of words at it.

There are 3 ways to select abilities from your action bar, pressing the #, clicking it with the mouse, or using the arrow keys to scroll through and select. The last is obviously something for controller players, but it really gets in the way of the other two methods.

Example, if I target a mob and hit enter it will highlight an ability, now whenever I use an ability it will always say that I am casting the highlighted ability, regardless of what I am actually using. The only way to fix this, it to hit escape to hide the action-bar, and then use another ability. This wouldn't be as big of a problem, but every time you activate a battle regiment it brings up the ability selector and causes the bug.

This happened to me twice yesterday.

While typing out /eaction # "skill name"...I managed to type something incorrectly on the skill name and it immediately crashed the game. After I logged back in, I tried it again but this time I didn't quote the skill and the game all of sudden started running at 2fps. The interesting thing was, my GPU usage also slowed down to 1/2 the speed and the temp dropped. It is like all of sudden the game doesn't use the GPU anymore. I had to log out, exit and restarted the game.

One more thing. My Lalafell's shirt kept flaring up like a mini skirt after I changed equipment. It won't return to normal until I either exit the game and restart, or occasionally after I teleported.

I updated the original post to split the listing in Bugs/Glitches (things that are currently implemented but are not functioning correctly) and Other Issues (things that players feel the game is missing, but are not an incorrect implementation of a feature). There's a bit of wiggle room (eg: being unable to move while checking a bazaar could be the intended implementation, but since no reasonable person would assume that, it is listed as a bug).

If the patch notes for today don't say anything about this, could you try it again in-game see if the issue still occurs? I attempted to replicate it, but the best I could do was to equip and action that doesn't seem to exist (which gave me the red action missing icon on my desktop. Typing the name incorrectly didn't cause a problem with anything else. If it does still cause a problem, could you also list what GPU and drivers you are using?

Every once in a while, your monsters for the guildleve will refuse to appear. This has happened to a couple of people I know, and is probably related to the bug involved where you wipe during a pursuit, except for them there was no wipe or anything else unusual. The arrow leads you to the spot, the yellow circle is there, but your target is a no-show. Both times involved quests that involved simultaneous but separate batches of monsters on the map, but it's hard to tell if that was just chance or not.

Was never in a group at all last night and when I tried to kill a MOB I received no xp/sp because 'My party leader was too far away' or something to that effect. We'll see if I'm still stuck in this mode tonight when I log in. This happened suddenly because I was killing stuff an hour earlier no problem.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but I feel it would be a HUGE bonus if we could choose to set our 'return' point rather than having it set automatically when interacting with a crystal.

Like what if you just want to regen some mana and HP, or 'Arrive' somewhere to be able to teleport to it later, but don't want to set that as your return location?

Could you ask them which leve they were on? In certain leves, the monsters are underground and may not appear on the map (since you are not on the same level as them). The circle will guide you to the location directly above them (which isn't extremely useful). I know that confused me the first time I got one of those leves in beta.

This list needs to be at the top of the forum always.

Edit: Also not so much a glitch or game issue but SE needs to offer outside "Name Changing" services, for a price at least.

I hope that SE does fix these issues soon. The one that has been bothering me most is the graphical glitch with the lalafell, I can't stand it. That issue alone has been driving me from playing as much as I would like to. I have an elezen character (however you spell it) but I would really like to just focus on my one lalafell character. Also, the /sea option would have to come in second for what I would like to see fixed. But anyways, SE does seem dedicated to fixing all of the bugs, I just hope that they prioritize which ones are fixed instead of minor before major, etc.

How's this a bug or glitch? I don't think it was ever intended to work like this.

Has anyone tried binding auto-run to one of the extra mouse buttons? It's not perfect but it might help get around moving with the mouse.

ok, so I had 999 earth crystals I moved to my retainer. I gained about 200 crystals since moving them over. I went to trade ½ of them with a friend and moved them over to my inventory. I had 999 in my inventory and the 200 extra dissappeared never to be seen again. I didnt meant to move all 999 over but it should have told me its full already and not just absorb the other cyrstlas I had.

edit: shards not crystals, but you get the point.

Ran into a field chock full of "Naked Moles" I couldn't target any of them. I got a error message saying "Invalid Target". They all disappeared after 30 seconds or so.

There is a cap on how much impact your stats will have, based on your class rank. I was almost certain that the game told you when adding to that stat would not have any impact, but I've recently been told that message is gone (though I've yet to verify it myself).

Add: My problem is that I can't regain mp unless I go to an Aetheryte. The ability is just not there... actually any job I choose the 0 cost ability is not there. Ranger-missing close shot, Conjurer-missing tranquility, Thaumaturge-missing exaltation... and so on.

Don't know if this has been listed yet, happens to me quite often. If you're in a party and not all your party members are present at the fight (doesn't have to be leader,) sometimes the game will think that you haven't claimed the mob your fighting. Resulting in your TP being constantly drained, you will almost certainly die if you're fighting something hard and suffering from this bug.

I lost 800 fire shards this way.

Items should NEVER vanish without warning in a game. Sure, there's a limit to the number of shards you can hold, but at least have some sort of server side warning against this sort of clobber.

Edit:
You create 12 bronze nuggets.
Your loot list now contains 12 bronze nuggets.
You create 12 bronze nuggets.
You obtain 12 bronze nuggets.
2 minutes later
You throw away 12 bronze nuggets.
You throw away 12 bronze nuggets.

So I have to go into my loot list and manually pull them over or they automatically get dropped?

Yep, that is one of the leves that is underground. You need to hit the southwestern two points, which are infront of a cave. Follow that cave to a chamber for the final leve target.

I was running to Tranquil to turn in a local leve and I tried to fight that thing. It won't attack back, but it gets to 1% and does NOT die no matter how much damage you do. After that I was not able to fight anything else until I logged off and back on. I lost out on a leve thanks to that stupid fungaur!

When I start up the game, it logs me in, the SE logo flashes, and then I get a black screen. The game apparently freezes. Starting over a couple of times (5-15) will eventually get me to log in, but it's a little bit irritating.

There was a thread on FFXIV core about this, and I tried the stuff they suggested -- going through IE to adjust some settings, ******* with the resolution/full screen -- and I still have this issue.

I found a glitch that you guys haven't listed yet. No matter what I do, I just cant get earrings and rings to show on my character model. All my guild mates have no problems having their accessories displayed. I'm a Highlander Hyur with bald haircut. I'm rank 24CON Phys25.

Thanks for this awesome post, i'll follow it up and also post it on our guild's forum. Thanks again.

Another issue that goes along the lines of being unable to logout or perform other actions when party members are(or aren't) engaged in battle: this happens even when not even remotely in the same area as the party members who are engaged, yet still being unable to change jobs, etc.

For example, party members at Camp Horizon engaged-- myself in Ul'dah, unable to switch classes.

Not sure if this is a bug or just coincidence.

If you attempt to enter a ward right when it's being reset, you get disconnected from the game. This has happened to me twice.

Edit: Whoops, didn't see this was a necro post.

OP has a lot of editing to do, not a jab at the OP but it's a good sign of progress for all of us. Of course for every handful of things fixed a new item will rear its head. Nature of the beast and all.

That's what happens when new posters actually follow the rules and use the search function. While this isn't the ideal thread to have on the front page, it is a nice reminder of how far we've come.

And Momeki the issue no longer exists.

Graphics (easy to solve)

- After 1 year no fix for Teleport graphic bug (with ambient occlusion setting 'off'): after the teleport animation, we continue to see the character for 4-5 seconds......

- Casting spell + shield equipped: check the miraculous 'rotating' shield!

- Interpenetration between hats and conjurer staves (really ugly!!!!)

Graphics (check the engine!)

- 'Physics' grafic bug: i.e. interpenetration between miqote tails and robes

- Problems with shadows on the character (small suggestion: create a third option to remove shadows only on character, but not the character shadow on the ground...)
