Brand new graphics card, bought the special edition but wanted to run the benchmark just in case, I had to update DirectX and now it gives me an error message after I select race and gender. Final Fantasy XIV official benchmark has stopped working. Any fixes?

Fix is to upgrade to a better card. 5450 is terrible. Get at least a 5770.

Don't listen to this guy. a 5450 should do benchmark fine. I had a 3870 radeon and was getting scores of 2700-2800. I upgraded because I wanted even better, but even with that score according to SE, was right in the middle.

You sure about that?

I got s 4850 and get like the score you did with your 3870 at low settings.

Higher number does not equal more powerful card.

A 3870 is a better card than a 5450.

First number = Generation
Second number = Major model number.
Third number = Minor model number.

The second number is the most important, followed by the third. Anything that is X5XX or lower is crap. X6XX is slightly less crap. X7XX is good. X8XX is high end. X9XX is top of the line. The first number is just the generation.

Yeah, people argued about their graphics cards,I gleaned that a 5450 should work and complete other question : why is it telling me to upgrade to vist service pack 2 on a windows 7 machine?

Before anyone replied I opened the box and installed it, my laptop doesn't run it as expected with it's chipset graphics, but the desktop with the 5450 gets the error message about upgrading to service pack 2 of vista, and its running 7.
