Completely aware, thanks. But as some of us have spent monies in the hundreds it's nice to (Final) fantasise about what we could have had.

Everything that is in FFXI is available to play now. Today. No waiting.

Why play FFXIV if the features you want are in FFXI?

To be honest, that's why I'm not playing. I'm seriously contemplating going back. But still keep looking for that last glimmer of hope. Something - some some morsel of information - which would pique my interest again and make me *want* to log in again. That's why I'm on this forum and not FFXI.

Because I have grown tired of that game after almost 8 years. Just because it's another game doesn't mean it didn't get some things right and there's nothing wrong with wishing they had implemented a similar feature in their latest MMO. I've heard the same argument said about WoW, and it really applies to any game. Fact of the matter is, a lot of people playing this game at this point are probably once FFXI players and it's a common ground we can all discuss over together.

good incentive to play in group and to go along with what, good party related functions (search, seek, comment etc.)
Feeling a bit alone atm

A better chat system (not cutting you out every 3s) would go a long way in increasing the interactions too.

I'm sure they're reading this and adding them in their "to-do" list for the upcoming patches.
Check out my awesome adventure at . If you don't know about Fantaji then you're missing out!

Overpriced vendor weapons.

Good news! They added those in retail. Vendors now sell weapons beyond starting weapons for excessive pricing.

For example, the Bronze dagger, which is 4k-9k from a player sells from a vendor for ~22k.
You know you've been playing too many MMOs when:

You pass a cop and wonder if it 'Agroed' you.
Another car passes you, you attempt to /follow it.
You use your "push to talk" key while talking on the phone.
Text-based games You put a /s before every message you type in an IM (or equivalent / command)
(I have done all)

Pretty much everything from FFXI, except graphics. ****, just scrap XIV and reskin XI with XIV graphics (except the copy/paste bs), drop PS2 support and make it PC (and PS3, though I question PS3 even with FFXIV, its going to end up limiting FFXIV in the future, just as XI is limited by the PS2) only, then add all the things to XI they never could due to PS2 limitations.

What? I'm gonna go play FFXI now ...

Auction House... honestly, what were they thinking?

I don't understand how SE can try to appeal to more casual gamers without including an Auction House. Some people are very limited in the time thay have to play. If they have to spend 2 hours hunting through the market wards to find a particular item I'm sure they're not going to be very happy about it.

Retainers are all well and good, but in addition to the AH, not instead of!

At a time like this when the general playerbase is upset with the game and everybody's worried about the quick death of a highly anticipated MMO...

Isn't it kind of silly for the believers to be pushing away everybody on the fence?

You're hurting the game even more when you try to reduce FFXIV subscriptions.

Mog house.

I always like when you can get player housing in MMO's. It makes it seem like your character belongs in that world, since they have a place of their own. Without housing, it feels like you're playing a tourist.

Auction House Mailbox Decent party mechanics Targeting system that works worth a **** Keyboard shortcuts Player search and /sea all A dev team with more than half a dozen functional brain cells between them.

Of course, that was only a recent addition to FFXI, so I'm not sure if that counts.

I would say scythe... it's just so awesome. Than I can use my most epic one liner that I used when I played DRK "It's harvesting time" lol lame I know!

Edit Note: Wait a second we have scythes in this game and I can say that line... just doesn't seem fitting to say it cutting down some tall grass... sigh THANKS SE ruining this one thing I had!

I would bring over the way that not every single thing you do has to go through server. It would get rid of 90% of the UI lag, which is horrible.

Wyverns- though since they would only serve to increase the lag, for now I'd have to go with the mog house. That way everybody can craft in their house, instead of in the middle of the city- that should cut down on the lag some, right? ;_;

On that note though, has anybody noticed the guards at the Market Wards talk about a Merchant Homes section that you can't warp to yet (at least in Ul'dah)? Maybe they're planning on implementing it there?
