Good morning,

So, first, I'm sorry if this was already spoken of (didn't use the search function):

Having so many servers temporarily closed to character creation can be extremely frustrating. I understand why they are doing what they are, but at the same time, blocking us from enjoying the game they've created is rather trying. I know that we have the "option" to roll on other servers (since they have slammed shut the doors to all others!), namely, those which they are attempting to "funnel" us into, but most of us have social connections on the servers which are now locked. Is anyone else struggling with this issue?

I've been checking status' since last night around 9PM CST (GMT -6), and now at nearly 9AM the next day, all they've got to show is an even smaller server list.

Stop funneling us into servers we don't want to be in! :-(

Right now it's the nature of the beast and we just have to deal with it unfortunately. They should be opening the other servers back up as populations stabilize.

waiting, while it seems a reasonable answer, is not all that reasonable considering that A. any of us who have the game right now paid extra for an early start, and B. they have a popup window that says "make sure to join the server your friends are on"

seriously... I can understand population balancing... but not until the game hits live, rather then during a limited head start.

True.
But we have no control over how SE decides these things so we have no choice but to wait. I don't think it's reasonable at all but we have no other options if we want to continue playing at this moment.

no options if we dont want to continue playing either... cant return pc software once opened...

so the only option to us that remains is to complain long and loud...

one would think such an issue would be anticipated and a worldpass system developed and in place

Great point, Taliph. Didn't even think about the head-start factor & their doing this during it.

Sadface. If anyone sees a change in the server listing for the better (like Lindblum, Mysidia, Figaro, etc), please let us know!

I imagine half of the actual server population is actually sitting around, AFK, by whatever has been accepted as the bazaar spot. So eventually, nobody will be able to log into the servers or start new characters because those that refuse to use the retainer system (Not even getting into that argument, other cup of tea) are clogging up the population metrics.

So if you live on a heavily populated server, when you walk by a plethora of adventurers standing silent with their loot bags held high, keep it in the back of your mind that that many people are sitting in the login queue / world selection queue, trying to get in.

Been trying for three days to get into Figaro with my friends personally...
