I'm having trouble picking which class suits me best.

I want to mainly play a class that has brutal strength. I want it to be a good solo-er. (My secondary class will be a good party contributor.)

I'm fond of warriors, with high hits and good hp. Which class do you think suits me best? Also, any stat-build guides out there for that class?
Thanks for the help!

Sounds to me like you'd want to be Marauder. Check out Zam's Marauder class forum.

As a similiar question, What class is the best to pick for a new character, in terms of starting equipment? I can easily buy the weapon of my choice from a vendor to level my main class, but do any of the classes really stand out in their starting gear?

I heard that blacksmiths get goggles and fishermen get a hat. And it seems that DoH classes get basic gear that helps keep the crafting from failing, which seems pretty helpful, since you get a lot more exp from a completed synthesis.

Any thoughts?

Well remember there isn't a "main class" because you are mixing and matching abilities. I would suggest you decide what your favorite weapon is then look at a class ability listing and decide what abilities sound good to you.
