Why is it so hard to sell food!?

Mostly because I have near zero gil currently, and am trying to save to buy gear before I buy luxuries like food. I think the food market will take a bit to actually pick up steam.

Because there is no ah.

No AH = everything is super inflated = no money for consumables since every drop of gil goes to gear upgrades.

Plus, the amount of time it takes to scan for items in the market wards, to only find the item that you thought was good deal selling for less in another bazaar. I think once the change is implemented things will get easier, but until some sort of search function is added, or just a plain AH system started, things will always be hard to locate. The main problem that I have experienced thus far is the higher crafted items are not only hard to make, but take several steps just to make one part of the 'big synthesis'. Hopefully, this will improve over time.

My reasoning behind not going culinary right away. People don't know what stats the food gives yet and usually when you are struggling in a new game and you don't know where to efficiently use items the last thing on your mind is wanting to fork out some gil for food thats gonna run out after 3 pulls.

Also, at least at the lower levels, you can solo things. If you can easily succeed without food, why pay for it unless it has growth potential (increased skillups) or monetary potential (better crafted items)? I think the food market will pick up as people get further, and the game gets harder.
