ok, so we were messing around with Battle Regimens (having fun at it too) and wanted to know if anyone has successfully created a detrimental effect from the Regimens.

I will Update to this list but:
Red Lotus Blade > Concussive Blow = Nothing
Concussive Blow > Red Lotus Blade = Cant seem to get this to execute.

Google it there are several guides. Any base class attack and another base class attack makes a regimen. Then certain combos of weapon skills and magic skills

They do produce several different effects, I tried to find the guide that showed what they all were but couldn't. I know it's out there though.

Well, the point of this thread was to find out what effects people have created. Sure you can Battle Regimen any attack but not all of them will produce a status effect. I wanted to see if anyone was able to create a status effect such as "Defense Down"

Found it:

Quote:
Unlike the skillchains of FINAL FANTASY XIV, battle regimens are not only for dealing damage, but also can be used to produce the following effects:
* Lowers a target’s physical defense (normal attack -> normal attack)
* Lowers a target’s magic defense (normal attack -> magic attack)
* Increases a target’s casting time/raises MP costs (normal attack -> magic spell)
* Lowers a target’s TP progression/raises TP costs (normal attack -> weaponskill)
* Maintains the effectiveness of class abilities when used by different classes
(magic spell -> magic spell (both from same class))
(weaponskill -> weaponskill (both from same class))
* Increases player damage
(weaponskill -> weaponskill -> magic spell (weaponskills from different classes, finishing spell is optional))
(magic spell -> magic spell -> weaponskill (spells from different classes, finishing weaponskill is optional))
For example, when fighting a monster that has high physical defense, a regimen which will lower that defense is effective. On the other hand, when fighting a monster that uses magic attacks, a regimen that slows casting time and increases MP cost is recommended.

I'm sure we still as a community, have a ways to go to fully understand this system. But it does seem to offer unique combinations and effects to party play.

Here's my problem with battle regimen. Every time a friend and I attempt to do one, we ready our attacks, ONE of us hits the initiate button, but only one of us actually attacks and nothing happens. I realize range might be an issue, but it appears on screen as if we're both right next to the enemy.

Does this happen when your attacks don't combo together, or are both players supposed to attack regardless of whether it works or not?

http://ffxivarchives.com/page/guides/_/game-mechanics/battle-regimens-r31 has a bit more info, but only a bit more literal examples.

Do you double click the initiate button? You have to double click it. If it doesn't execute the regimen then something is going wrong. Did you check your chat log? Maybe you just missed the effect.

it seemed to have been bugged a few days ago in Lindblum.
we wrote down a few that worked, but for some reason they literally would only activate if we had more than two people que up, but only two would activate at a time. if ONLY two people qued up, nothing would happen at all, we tried this witht he same result for about two hours.

however i will say that when we did activate them, they were super powerful.
