Ok all the "omg ffxiv has no content and is full of bugs" threads are annoying me now this is one of the best MMO releases i have known, servers are always up only been 1 crash on some servers so far.

And for ppl that complain at no content MMOs never have much content at released, thats why they get updated several times a year its how they keep us hooked on em, how many console games have you played everyday (bar the few 1-4 month breaks) for 8yrs? If the answer is none i know why because those games are static, once you get 100% completion theres absolutly nothing to do but get that 100% again. If MMOs were like this they would die afer 1yr most.

For ppl that complain about bugs MMOs have bugs at release they always have and always will deal with it or leave for a bit till there worked out.

And for ppl that say "FFXI was a better launch than this, trust me i played since NA release" in fact the origanal JP release was alot worse than XIV, infact in the first month the servers crashed that much SE gave everyone that was playing an extra month free, there was also not much content for awhile and there were alot of bugs (getting aggro while on a choco for example).

Check This link for update history just a few issues they had, it goes right back to the origanal JP release.

Btw the origanal JP release was around 18 months BEFORE the NA release.

Long story short MMOs have issues at release you have 2 options.

1. DEAL WITH IT!!!!!

2. Quit for a few months to 1yr and come back when there is new content, bugs have been ironed out, servers are more stable and you may even get the first expansion.

Thank you for listening to that rant, let the rate downs and flames come /casts Barfire to avoid the flames.

The most annoying part of the "FFXIV sucks" threads to me is everyone of them feel the need to start their own thread so their opinion is heard instead of responding in one of the other 49 threads on the same subject.

This thread is no different.

When you "quit" and stop paying the monthly fees do you lose your character? Immediately or after some expiration period? Anybody know?

I'm sick of these too. If you want to play a game that is relatively bug free and has tons of content, don't play a brand new just off the shelf MMORPG. Go play one that's been out for 2+ years, at least. The best MMORPG in regards to content is the original EQ, which I believe is coming up on it's 17th expansion. So if you want content go play that.

This is bc i cant be bothered to post in the 500 threads individually when everyone basicly posts the same things over and over again to tell them that all MMO releases are like XIV, most of the time alot worse.

You dont delete your char when you cancel a service account and stop paying, it should still be there when you decide to play again.

Thank you for bringing some more inteligence to these forums.

I'm not telling anyone that this game is perfect because atm it is far from it, but give it time and it will get alot better.

Eh, these are old wounds that won't go away and will only increase as the release of the regular version + ps3 versions are still to come. Every day there's at least one person cancelling their order or quitting their game.

These threads have been a normal occurrence since at least beta 1. After a bit you just get used to it. Get ready for another wave of it come 9/30. We should just make a sticky thread of the complaints.

If you're angry at SE for the lack of hardware mouse post here.

If you're angry at SE for the clunky UI post here.

If you're angry at SE for lack of content post here.

If you're angry at SE for the surplus system post here.

If you're angry at SE for the misc reasons post here.

If you're just angry....tuff luck. lol

I am glad to hear that.. There are some MMORPGs out there that will delete your character within 90 days of a non-paying account..

Now I can really enforce the "If you don't get your homework done, then you get no Final Fantasy XIV" without it also meaning that my little sister will lose her char.

I can't fathom why people think someone buying the game and quitting because they don't like it, only to think that maybe 6 months or a year more down the road it might bring them back, is a good thing. If **** near everyone does this, it suggests the game is crap. It doesn't **** it to mediocrity or never being salvaged, but it is what it is, a poor start. Love or hate the ***** threads, it's customer preference at work and a reflection of what the MMO user wants.

Dabbling in beta and scouring content chances since pre-launch, the game stinks of a rush job. In every other industry, "I'll pay you tomorrow for a hamburger today" logic doesn't fly, but for some reason MMO users tolerate it. Some try to justify it, even, claiming it'll be better with future updates and bug fixes. To this day, there are still FFXI players waiting for fixes to problems that have been around for years while SE tries to sweep them under the rug while creating new ones on top of that. It doesn't paint the prettiest of pictures for XIV's future, and to **** the game to some niche market because a few fanboys think it'd be better off that way is silly at best, stupid at worst.

compared to most MMOs I have found this launch quite smooth. TIme will tell when the game actually is released on the 30th.

+1

People need to wait until the games official launch to see what's really going on with it. This is just the early release, subs and such are not even apparent at this point. More servers could be added. There could be many many more players than expected. After all SE did get more players in Open Beta than they had anticipated.

False logic, it doesn't subscribe to a PC base, really. Which is why the MMO crowd is so accepting of it.

Buying FFXIV is like buying your seat in the store. (You couldn't get in the door otherwise.) For doing so, you get a free fries and drink. Your subscription fee promises you that you'll keep getting fed, and the story says if the subscriptions keep up, that tasty burger might be on the menu later down the line. Right now, the fries are too salty and the drinks kinda flat. But hey, you got the first month of that for free. You can keep eating it, or cancel your subscription and still have your seat for when you decide to come back.

Granted, most people who walk in a fast food chain expect burgers to be on the menu right away. So it's your call to decide to go to the store and buy a seat at all. Or never come in.

Right now, the people complaining about the store are creaming "never come here!" by their complaints. Which I think is wrong. The game has vast potential, but it was a rushed product. I would have gladly waited another year for this game to come out and have it be more polished on the release. But I do enjoy what's out now, so I'll stick with it.

It's fine if that's a minority opinion. But people should decide for themselves, not be told 'don't spend your money.' If you're that confident the game sucks and that a person shouldn't spend their money on it, give up your buddy pass and let them decide for themselves first.

-Not so easy now is it?

APB had potential too. What'd that get it? Dead in under 2 months.

The MMO field is a mature genre now. You simply cannot sell an MMO on future potential anymore.

But It wasnt sold under potential. It was sold with people knowing how the game was. Did they play the beta, did they read the forums, did they see the list of things that SE said they wanted to FIX (which means the game had lots of problems and lots of holes). They knew exactly what they were buying.(If they didnt, then thats a different story, it means that they easily spent 75$ without knowing what they were buying, not smart) It was their choice to buy it or not, it wasnt forced onto them.

Everyone in this post needs to just stfu. Including main poster, your not contributing to the "FFXI sucks" post by making a thread against it, all your doing is starting a debate. Lets just say, people are entitled to their opinions, so let it be. You don't like those threads, don't go in and take the time to read, or respond. Don't feed the trolls, etc... etc... if you ignore their opinion/rant, all will be well.

An Email I just sent to SE a few seconds ago that will go no where. Thought i would share it here:

"There is no info that i can find that FFXIV will get better in the near future. Honestly, right now, I have way to many complaints to continue playing it. Maybe my hopes were set too high... Feasible thought, since my fiance and I spend thousands (approx. $2.5K US) upgrading PCs to meet you're game specs and pre-ordered 2 Collector's Editions of FFXIV @ $160 US. No wonder I'm flat out disappointed at the level of painfully slow, boring, repetitiveness of everything (menus, crafting, even guildleves are rinse & repeat) not to mention the high challenging level to do what should be the simplest tasks like battle, buying / selling goods, gear changing, grouping, communication (cannot talk while in battle or craft mode in an m-multiplayer-orpg, really?) and more. So thanks for the GREAT LOOKING GAME; too bad with nothing else going for it that I DO NOT care to play unless I get some NEWS (which there seems to be a lacking) of some changes for the better. I love the FF series and as a so called "Fanboi" I cannot defend myself or Square-Enix in this case. Beauty means nothing when you're ugly on the inside. It boils down to this game is not "fun" and if someone like me refuses to play.... who will?"

On the contrary! I - and by 'I' I mean all of you - paid for your game. Forty or fifty quid I paid. I'm not going to get that back as there's nowhere in this country that I know of that would refund you a PC game. Heck, I can't even sell it second hand. I didn't get the first month for free at all. I paid quite a few queen-heads for about four days of on and off gaming, where 'off' got more frequent by the day.

At the current rate servers will be merged in 3 months. I've talked to a lot people who will not play after the first free month. Age of Conan had more content than this at Launch. Fail Fail SE.

I don't mind bugs as long as they are fixed in a timely manner(which isnt happening) and low content, I do mind almost no content from a company that spent 5+ years making this and spent many millions on it. They have so much money available to throw at this they could of taken on loads of extra staff and put out this game as it should of been, there is no excuse for how this game is. This is a big professional company with a lot of experience in the MMO field.

Also the main gripe people have arent the bugs or the low content(even though thats disgraceful with how little there is), the main problem so many people have with this game is the truely horrible decisions, ommissions and ideas the game has...and well the totally unfinished state it is, even for launch. You can let some things slide sometimes but with a company with this much experience they should know better and it should be better.

I can honestly only think they don't really care about the PC release at all, there is really no other explanation for what they did with the game. They only care about PS3 and to that end I hope that the PS3 release will be the most awesome awe inspiring MMO at release ever to see the light of day because if not then the view will change from "they only really care about ps3 launch" to "they are totally imcompetent".

How did they take so long on this game and spend so much money and make such basic mistakes? I cannot for the life of me fathom it. Everything you could want is in their favor and they still made a mess of it :/ They can still turn things around and fix the game, but saying that the game should not be this bad to start with either so even that isnt a guarantee.
