Anyone still have a buddy pass?Follow

Is anyone kind enough to give me a buddy pass? Unfortunately I missed out on any of the beta phases so I never got to try the game. I loved FFXI so I'll probably like this too, I'm just concerned about how it'll run on my old computer. The benchmark says I can play the game on standard/low settings so I really want to try it before I buy a copy (standard) to see if it'll run at all at a playable frame rate.

Thanks

how does this work? How can you play the game without a download?

The CE comes with a Buddy Pass. Basically, it's a 2nd registration code. Give your install CD + Buddy Pass to a friend, and they're able to play FFXIV free for 30 days.

Torrent the ISO of the DVD, it works perfectly.

I borrowed a friend's disc to install mine, but unfortunately he sold his CE off including the buddy pass and before he could make an account so I couldn't try it out (i didn't even know CE's came with buddy passes at that time). I think many people are just downloading a full copy of the game somewhere though

if anyone still has a buddy pass send one my way please

Seriously, try and fanboy harder. I don't think it's possible.

Downloading the ISO for the game is completely worthless unless you have either a buddy pass or a legitimate registration code that you can only get through buying the game.

Obviously the "preferred method" is to borrow a DVD, but unless you know someone who plays XIV, if you just want to try the game before buying it, the only other way to get it is to download it.

Pretending for a moment you're SE, would you rather:

1) Player downloads torrent of ISO and tries game, or:
2) Player does not try game and plays something else instead.

Again, I'm sure they'd rather you borrow someone's disk, but unless they're going to host a download of the game on their own servers, I'm sure they'd want people to try the game instead of not try it, given the choice.

Last bump for a request for an NA buddy pass. I found an Amazon 5$ gift card as an incentive to trade!
