I've got 3 Carpentry Guildleves I accepted the other day by accident. The guildleve timer has reset since then. They will not leave my local guildleve journal and it appears I cannot exchange them. I have not done them nor do I want to do them. Is the only way to get rid of them to do them?

You actually have two quest leve sections... one for more 'combat / gathering' type, and one for the actual 'crafting' type quests... I'm pretty sure that you could trade those quests for more of the same type. (there are two people that hand out leve's in most locations, and you can have 8 of each of the leves for a total of 16... 8 for combat / gathering, and 8 for crafting fulfilment... if memory serves, the crafting one is the 'local leves, and the combat / gathering one is 'regional leves'...)

oh how I wish there was a manual... or even a guide would have been nice.

Hmmm, this may be the case, but unless I can stock up on 8 of them at once these carpentry guildleves remain in my journal. I just want them out lol.

oh, that sounds right.. I think untill the journal is filled, the uncompleted ones won't let you trade... unless your trying for more than 8... ya, you may be out of luck on that one heh, but at least it won't prevent you from snagging any more eh?

G'luck to ya!

Ohh My... That would be nice, but I think you'll just lose the materials for that time around so you'd have to do it like five or six times per leve sadly.

Doesn't work. You have to actually fail the synth for crafting leves for the leve to fail. It's because there isn't a timer and as soon as you take the leve, you start it (denoted by the Guildleve animation playing).

I actually like it this way because I can just do one of the synths while waiting for a party member or if I don't have time to do them all I can do one and log back in later to finish.

And doing this would be pointless because you'd have to wait until the Guildleves reset to trade in the failed leve anyway.

Okay so, here's an update.

I have done no local levequests since the last guildleve reset. I went to purposely collect 8 local levequests so I could exchange the carpentry guildleves and get them out of my inventory, but when I got up to 5 (I have the 3 carpentry leves) it says I cannot take on anymore. So, if I finish some of these I "can" get more, but your journal will not allow you to get more local levequests until they have been completed. So, I've discovered:

If you choose the wrong guildleve for a craft, you can not get rid of it until you complete it.

Be careful choosing local levequests, if you choose the wrong one you're boned until you complete it.

That EXACTLY!!

I never buy guides - except for MMO's and when I picked up my game I asked the girl, "Aren't you going to ask me if I want to buy the guide together with the game for 20% off?"

And she said there was no guides.. I was like WTF.. a guide would have been so sweet..

Now we know why we got the leather journals... to write down everything lol

They really need to impliment a cancel levequest option if even for just the local ones. I know what you are going through I have one Levequest that is over in Gridania, I'm currently farming and questing in Limsa with limited anima. So I dont expect that Leve to be finished any time soon.
