I'm working on getting my FFXI account rebilled to get the Hermes' Shoes for my FFXIV characters.

The question that came to mind was:
Will I be able to receive the Hermes' Shoes if I am making an FFXIV account that will begin with the 30-day trial that my friend gave to me?

The FFXI account will -not- be in free trial period.

thanks for your responses.

Technically if you are restarting FFXI then it will still be in the free-trial period. You have to wait for a full billing cycle as far as I am aware.

Incorrect info see below

Interesting. I thought renewing my Content ID subscription would not involve the free trial period.

In any case, if I must wait 1 month, I can do this. I'll just start a new character then instead.
However, my question still remains.

So long as my FFXI Content ID is not in free trial mode, will I get the Hermes' Shoes if I am using the 30-day trial for my new FFXIV account?

No, this is not correct. If you re-activate an old FFXI account (you don't get the free trial period) and link with your Square Enix account (where your FFXIV is registered), then it will take about 1 day to process, and then the first new character made after that will have Hermes shoes. Also you can always delete your existing FFXIV character and create a new one, and you'll still get Hermes shoes.

I don't see any reason why you wouldn't get Hermes' Shoes by linking to a buddy pass account, but I've never done this or know anyone who has done it, so I don't know for sure

No you don't. I reactivated my account 2 or 3 days before the 22nd. I have the shoes.
