Ahahahahaaaaaaaaah!

Oh, that is a good one. Buttersheep will live on forever.

Regardless of information like that, the guide was still useful in a time before up to date websites and wikis. If nothing else, it explained which NPCs to talk to in quests/missions, that the game didn't really give much information in-game. It also had full lists of crafting recipes. As long as you ignore the "advice" on how to play jobs, the guide did have a lot of handy reference during the first few months of the NA release.

Chill the @#%^ out, please.

I'm sorry did I offend you? Ok, stupid question, something obviously annoyed you, but I didn't mean any of that to be a slam against you...

Has anyone been able to log into the game since the "patch/maintenance" or whatever you choose to call it?

Like someone said a second ago, the maintenance has not ended yet. Downloading the patch, does not indicate the maintenance has ended.

http://ffxiv.zam.com/en/serverstatus.html <-- That one begs to differ ^^

has done for quite some time now, actually.. :]

I am in a college dorm too.

People don't realize port forwarding does NOT work when you have no router, also It wouldn't work anyway, because all torrents no matter what kind, any peer to peer, are all blocked.

Ah no problems, sounded like you were lecturing :) No offence meant, or taken.

Someone who has downloaded the patch, please host it on rapidshare or an FTP,

I'm not actually sure i can even do rapidshare.

I KNOW I can't download ANY sort of torrent, so just the .patch file directly plz

I really thought college was suppose to be a liberal place but my college has an agreement with very conservative copyright groups (other colleges are in the agreement to) to stop all torrenting even though some of it is not illegal.

You can port forward in modems provided by Verizon and Comcast FYI - you don't need a Linksys or other commercial router to Port Forward.

Dude, we get it, we could port forward if we had a router.

Why does everyone insist on telling me this over and over, I do not have a router, I just need the .patch file

It's not THAT hard, you just go host it for us after copying it from your 48e... folder.

Help a brother out so he can play the game too.

75$ wasted?

There are a few other posters around these forums that have hosted the other patches, I don't think you'll get banned etc. but If you take it down then please just keep helping people like me.

I'm eternally grateful, honestly

I've posted them before without any messages coming from the admins/moderators.

If they have a problem they know how to contact me and let me know not to do it anymore.

I generally keep them all on my drop box look around for posts from me after maintenance or send me a msg if you need them in the future. I always post the links over on http://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/ unless someone beats me to it.

I think I'm spoiled from EVEs patch schedule. Sure it wasn't awesome on days where I had 12ish hours to dedicate to the game, but it was consistant the majority of the time.

XI's was fairly random when I finally quit and started to hit less frewuently for extended periods of time when I had time available. But that's the thing isn't it... People don't care if your nieghbor paints their house neon pink with flashing blue lights unless they can see the flashing blue lights from their bedroom.

-An issue where a text log indicating that the alchemy skill “Preserve” expiring before actually wearing off has been addressed.

-An issue where the effect of the conjury ”Roaming Soul” could not be activated properly has been addressed.

I was not aware that any of those things were issues which needed addressing. Good to know they're keeping an eye out for the important stuff.

Patch notes sept 28.
No fixes to the problems they really should be fixing before SE launch...
And tweaking emote text... Really? Was that really as important as some of the other stuff you need to do?

Yea to be honest i'm in iraq deployed and getting shot at on a pretty regular basis. All i really want to do when i get back from mission is ******* play ffxiv. MIT the ISP we have here in iraq does not allow any P2P networking what so ever. Does that mean i'm just screwed because SE doesn't want to host the patches for a direct download? Why can't that just do what blizz does and ******* put a disable button on their p2p.

Or you could scroll up and read where someone posted a link to the direct download instead of getting upset with an unwarranted sense of entitlement. You should do more reading and less whining, if you don't like getting shot at the military probably wasn't a good choice
