No P2P downloading allowed by my ISPFollow

My ISP does not allow P2P downloading at all.

I did happen to get my hands on the patch files, but not having any luck with installing or placing them. Been trying.

Start the patcher and it still tries to download it...

Please help I think this is a big problem, I don't want to have to lug my computer to a friends with a better ISP every time any minuscule patch comes out.

I may be wrong but wouldn't blocking P2P also block access to the game?

Somebody needs a new ISP.. P2P and cloud computing is the future.. You might find work-around now, but you're just going to keep running into the same problem further down the line.

Just ditch your ISP and go with a different company.

No, not necessarily.. There are ways to identify and filter out BitTorrent traffic with packet shapers.. For the most part, it's a cat and mouse game.. There are always ways to work-around their blocking such as bouncing traffic off a friend / proxy, running through encrypted SSH tunnels, etc. etc.. It's never impossible to get around any kind of traffic blocking so long as they allow any kind of traffic through, but it's such a PITA that the OP is better off just ditching their ISP.

Uh... dude. A suggestion...

Sometimes when a new patch is out someone will post a torrent of it.

Maybe ask your friend to DL it for you and then you go over to his place with a thumb drive. Save the patch go back to your room and place the files in the required folders.

Your ISP isn't blocking P2P, it's the University. You can talk to them about it or find somewhere else to download the patches.

My ISP blocks P2P as well but I am able to connect to the game by downloading the patches by other means. So you should be able to connect unless they are blocking another port that is used to connect to the servers.

I take it they don't allow things like satellite internet?

Adjust the resolution of menus.
The main screen resolution for "FINAL FANTASY XI" is dependent on the "Overlay Graphics Resolution" setting.
If the Overlay Graphics Resolution is set higher than the Menu Resolution, menus will be automatically resized.

I thought of it first:
