From my search, it seems the Japanese players have assembled their own online AH

http://www.ffxiv-market.com/market.html?s=14

I think it is interesting to see how players react so fast to the game. I wonder though, SE has been really detailed on the animation art; I was really surprised to see the facial expressions when I do quests.

However, they have gone such a long way to make things beautiful, yet they failed to apply something that was already designed within the same company.

Maybe they are trying to ration things out to keep us in constant high, lol

anyway, I hope we will have an online AH too, 'cos I don't read Japanese

Unfortunately that site is barely easier than looking manually through bazaars. It's basically a forum where people post what items they have in different threads; I don't think they are updated unless the poster goes back and decides to do so himself.

In fact, when I search for a ファイアクリスタル [Fire Crystal], it brings me to amazon to buy the Japanese "Erozea Starter Guide..." >_>

Update: I think there are only two posts on the whole site, so it must be really new.

Its not that they didn't have time to code or craft an AH (like you said... they already had access to an AH scheme). It is by design that we do not have an AH and we are forced to use the wards. They have explicitly stated in interviews that they did not want to launch with an AH.

They want to force us to use the wards so we at least try them out. If they gave us an AH we would not give the wards a chance.

There's no chance to give. It's absolutely, without a doubt the worst idea and implementation for an MMO ever conceived, and I've been playing since we called them MUDs.

Market Wards in their current iteration are nothing but SE being hardheaded and do more to punish the current players than combat RMT price inflation - which is just an insanely laughable excuse.

I actually don't HATE the wards anymore like I did before. Its not ideal, but its not as terrible as I thought before using it either.

The only result it came up with was the same old "ファイナルファンタジーXIV エオルゼア オフィシャルスターティングガイド (SE-MOOK)," even after I allowed scripts. ~_~

On the bright side, I didn't know that about FFXI crystals! XD

That must be some good stuff you're on. I'd be crazy to suffer going back into a ward until SE's made changes. ;)

If you are using google chrome the auto-translate does a really good job of making the site 'usable'.

When I get home I'll start posting my items in both english and JP on the rab section.

One of the mods here who speaks Japanese should contact the site and see if they are interested in linking to the items hosted here on Zam. Since the databases here are translated anyone in the world would be able to use their site, regardless of language.
