The why I enjoy, like, or love FFXIV threadFollow

First off this is a thread that kind of goes against the grain of all the people who like to ***** and moan about a game. Occasionally its nice to see whats good about a game without a bunch of ******** filling up forums with things they are going to complain about. This thread is about what you enjoy about ffxiv and thats it.

A few things that I really enjoy about FFXIV are to be included

1) Craft Classes:
I love the craft classes I think its cool that you can do craft quests and craft whatever class you want and if you have the space, clientelle, and time you can craft everything.

2) Gathering:
I enjoy that there are different types of minigames for each gathering session. It helps keep botters to a minimum and adds a bit of challenge to the game

3) Crafting:
Same as gathering I like the little minigames that you do and how you have to control quaity, speed, and efficiency to make better items not just dropping a bunch of crap in a pot and hoping you pass the 30% mark to not break your item or get +1

4) Classes:
I like that you can be whatever class you want and change it any time you want and after you get higher in levels you can combine abilities and skill with one another.

5) NO AUCTION HOUSE:
I like this because it encourages player community and forces players to learn where, when, and how to sell items to make a profit at the same time as encouraging some sort of social aspect to the game.

6) The level system:
I like that the experience bar slows down but the class experience stays the same over time. I think it encourages the people who cant play 10 hours a day to have something to look forward to and the players who do like to grind 10 hours a day can still gain class ranks. (Since class ranks are what matter more over player level anyway)

7) The environment:

I like the world you are in. The environment is beautiful and the higher level monsters are really awesome looking. I like that there are little caves with regular monsters and if you wander too far off the beaten path even in low level areas you're going to get your *** kicked.

I have to agree. I do like ALL of the above but fanboy I ain't before the haters flood in. I have my problems as much as the next guy but for a launch i love the route they've taken. The social aspect is pretty good. I mean if you wanted to be completely self reliant don't play an MMO. I've made a number of friends/clients through crafts where they need an item i can make and vice versa.

I'm not really sure why you think looking for hours through hundreds of NPC's bazaars "encourages some sort of social aspect to the game."

That actually took longer than I thought it would.

On topic: I'me having a great time. I've actually met a ton of people doing cross craft trades.

I like Miqo'tes. That should be the point #1 and it should bump down all others.

On a serious note, though, I'm having a ton of fun in the game so far. I can see myself wasting the next few years of my free time in Eorzea.

No you miss the point. The bazaars are there if u want to search. If you are looking for items. Contact people, find people who craft, make friends with them and perhaps buy or supply them with the required resources. I am sure a crafter will be just as willing to make you an item for a discount or free if you have all the required items (Free exp for them) or just money. You make business relationships with people. The AH removes any sense of business community that there is.

I love, love , LOVE crafting in this game.

I never enjoyed crafting in any MMO. I either came in late and crafting was an uphill battle from the get go,or it was so mind numbingly boring I just gave up.
While XIV crafting maybe time consuming it's so much more engaging. Before I'd gather/buy enough mats to churn out 100 I'd AFK while the game auto crafted for me.

Here I can control the results. So much better!

I'm hoping the battle craft guildleves start to present more of a challenge down the road. I want more of an experience than 5 min of running down a mob and 2 min of fighting.

So far, the only thing I like about the game is the graphics. The main thing I was hoping to get out of FFXIV was group leveling, but so far it seems like it's nothing but solo crap. I finally saw a shout for a party last night, but it was too late and I was out of time. Hopefully there will be a lot more.

Once you're about lvl 20 it gets much harder to solo and there will be guildleves with are lvl 20+ hard quests with good loot you'll find lots of parties for those

I HATE MQ's. (The reason being I ran all the way to Nine Ivies and got ganked 2 paces from atheryte by a one shot throw from a MQ mob... *****! Toad Poacher she was called!)

The graphics/world, I love to explore and run as far as I can.

The combat and the class system.

Nothing else... probably gonna explore during the free period and cancel my account if they do not patch all the flaws.

Interesting comment. Explore as far as you can. But if they dont fix all of the flaws I will stop playing.

Trying to visualize the flaws you'd be speaking of if you arent crafting and you arent gathering. So you are only hunting and if u mostly explore then you're probably only hunting tier 1 enemies. I cant imagine you'd be seeing too many flaws. I have a feeling the flaws you are concerned about are the flaws that other people seem to be posting. Which most are just nitpicky **** that doesnt have any real effect on the game.
