So, when the official release hitting stores (and homes) today, would it be safe to assume SE will release a patch that brings us out of beta and adds better optimization to the game?

No, it's not safe to assume anything. Buy the game or don't. You pays your money, you takes your chances.

I'd wager on no. It's been 8 days, and there are alot of those little things people want. Probably be another month or so. But we can hope.

Has anyone not logged off when they ask? I didn't log off will I experience a roll back for the stuff i did. the server didn't kick me off. I was out grinding mobs. but I am pretty sure the server shut down. because as soon as I logged off the server wouldn't even let me view my character screen.

Yeah hope against hope.

I don't know what to think really. For SE to have even released the game in this condition in the first place makes me doubt that any of those streamlining or 'quality of life' changes players want will ever materialize.

I got into MMOs in 1999, and every year, every new MMO, the launch gets worse. People demand more, and publishers are impatient. The way this works is you jump in on day one and live with the kinks and hope for the best, or you wait 6 months to a year to take another look at the game and be behind if/when you decide to get your feet wet.
