Still not really inclined to play much because I have no idea where the heck to go to grind on monsters. On Lindblum, I roam around for 5 minutes before finding a single monster. There are a couple somehwhat decent areas where I can get skillups but I haven't found any real camps where I can just grind for hours lol.

so anyone have grinding camp suggestions for Thanalan?

For level 6/7~12/13ish solo, I believe East of Ul'Dah, you can fins spot to grind on Copper Coblyn and Beetles. For now, there are always people grinding on those so it might be difficult to find available mobs. Or run to NW-ish of Camp Drybone and look for marmot, copper Coblyn. Players there usually lv10+ and most of time they won't fight on those.

I was actually considering posting a thread on this myself but then I realised it perhaps wasn't the best idea.

My view on grinding spots is somewhere that has 4 or 5 mobs in close proximity which I can then kill uninterrupted for a few hours at a fast pace.

Obviously the moment I share this information with someone, the likelihood of being interrupted becomes far greater and my progress rate will fall.

This is why i'm guessing you wont get many responses from those who have a little secret place of their own to go kill stuff. Cant say I blame them either really.

Well, I was going to keep this a secret but its already getting crowded on my server.

South of Limsa Lominsa, after going through a pass, it opens up into a field with a plateau that is just full of stray sheep. The rank 10 quest takes you through there. I've levelled a bunch of jobs to 5 there. Sheep don't hit hard or have special attacks, and the drops are worth decent coin to crafters.

lvl 11-16 brilliant spot and the reason why im telling you now is because im level 16 and i have no use for it now they are easy and i dont get much sp anymore.

in limsa head to the bloodrush camp and from there head south untill you come to the first bridge (do not cross)

stay in that spot and every few seconds more dodos keep spawning

There's a spot that I use sometimes that's NE of Drybone, on the northern edge of the map. There's a passage through the cliffs that goes straight north, into a cave. The cave is labeled something on the map that I can't read.

Inside is a small shrine...looks like it's got a statue of one of the Eorzean gods in it. It's just a single small room.

In the room there are about 4-5 mole spawn points. They seem to be optimal for rank 9-10ish. I fought them at lvl 11 GLD, and had no trouble with them. They respawn at an incredibly fast rate...I've never waited more than 15 seconds for a new pop.

There are also 2 Bogy spawn points (don't worry, they're not nearly as bad as the dreaded Bogy's of FFXI). They seem like a rank 7-8ish mob, but they aggro. I was able to take one on simultaneously with a mole without too much trouble at 11 GLD, but things can get a little dicey if you're not careful. Only 1 seems to spawn at a time, as far as I can tell, so they're not too bad. They occasionally use a technique where they disappear, then reappear and hit you with Curse (Magic Defense Down) and then pop you with a spell for larger damage. They're pretty manageable though, anyway.

It's a great leveling spot. Probably works best for 8-10. I left there at 13, though I had been supplementing my exp'ing with periodic leves.
