I don't think it is nerfed, just they turned on "Craftmanship" for equipment. Try putting on some of your starter gear and crafting gets a lot easier.

How can you say that when we don't even know what those stats really do? It would be better if SE just told us what they did and how they intended the system to work instead of leaving the players to play the guessing game at every corner. They could be changing up things every update and the things we thought we were figuring out are suddenly not right anymore. It's really frustrating to have everything seem so random and do all this guesswork, just to have them suddenly make all of it obsolete. It wouldn't be so bad if they just told us SOMETHING instead of always speaking in riddles.

yeah it is bogus. They could have at least waited to nerf until all level 7 (at least) crafting tools were avail. A level 7 saw takes level 20 mats to make (including a level 20 carp mat)... so I gotta use a level 1 tool till level 20 to even make PART of my level 7 tool? OH and NOW IT IS HARDER? That's f@cking bullsh*t.

Yea I dont understand the high level req for level 7 weapons. I was so close to making a bronze doming hammer and now based on my sythns I am at least 3-5 levels too low now. Also the birdbeak hammer and chocobowsaw are level 12 I believe and the requirements are lower then the level 7 bronze counterparts. Oh while Im thinking of it has anyone found a way to sort inventory like in XI?

I dont think they nerfed the whole systems but it seems they did cherry pick some synths. It might be there attempt to slow some of us down for a bit.

Maybe the moon isn't full anymore and you're facing the wrong direction, maybe you picked the wrong guardian, maybe your race can only craft that certain craft on a specific day that varies by server..... Oh wait, we'll never know.
Man, sometimes it'd be nice to have a little info. This is what kept me from ever starting to craft on FFXI. I was really hoping this time around it would be different. Here's hoping thing change by the PS3 release.
