Buying/Selling Damaged Gear?Follow

I have seen gear for sale that was listed with orange text that says "Damaged". I figured I could buy this gear and simply repair it and it would be as good as new. However, when I attempted to buy it, it would not let me for some reason.

Do I have to be a specific class that has the ability to repair the gear in order to buy it?

Why do people sell damaged gear so cheap if it only takes a cheap repair to make it good again?

Does gear get listed as "damaged" if you try to sell it with any wear whatsoever on it? Or can you list gear for sale that is partially used (damaged) and the buyer just needs to take note that its not in perfect condition?

Thanks for the help on this issue.

They're not trying to sell it, rather they're looking to have it repaired. Most likely never leveled the proper Doh class to be able to repair it or they're cheap.
Guns dont kill people. Rangers and Hunters with guns kill people.

I don't think you can sale damaged gear those are people paying for repairs on their damaged gear.In fact in Beta i tried to give my brother some equipment it wouldn't even let me trade him damaged gear. But i have yet to have the opportunity to try this since release.

They're just cheap, they sell stuff in their bazaar for 10k-100k but they expect a repair for 100 gil. I have NEVER seen a repair request for more than 100 gil.
Q: How many SE employees does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: None, it's working as intended.

Good to know. I suppose it might no be 'cheap' so much as it is inconvenient to run back to town to buy the appropriate ingot or whatever.

Thanks for the feedback.

I wont bother repairing if it aint atleast the cost of the mats, people, 100 gil does not cover the cost of nuggets/ingots for weapons.

I've done exactly 1 repair in another players bazaar, because they were offering the item required to do the repair, which ironically is worth more than the 100g most people offer.

To people requesting repairs: Be aware we have to use our own mats, and it gives us not-worth-mentioning skill gain (literally got 4 whole points... woo). Quit being so cheap. And yes, it is being cheap more than it just being inconvenient to return to town: 100g is less than the NPC charges for anything other than starter gear, and players can repair gear to a higher durability than the NPC.

Also, be aware that other people cannot move while viewing your bazaar, and a crafter can't repair your gear if you move more than a few feet away. So you should make sure your offer is worth the time it takes us to send you a tell of "Hey, slow down and I'll repair your <x>!"

Can I get some suggestions on how much gil to offer for seeking repairs?

I'm offering 1k gil for repairing a Copper Scepter, should I offer more?

Until people realize that it costs more than that to repair something, no one will get their gear repaired. For example, to repair my bow I purchased a willow branch ~600 gil. So if someone wanted their bow repaired, I wouldn't do it for any less than that amount. However, the only people who are putting up items for repair, are people who don't repair themselves! So they have no idea! This little loop might continue for awhile.

Can you continue to wear the gear while it is seeking to be repaired?

Nope, has to be in your bazaar or your retainers bazaar.

What I found funny is I repaired someones ring in beta and my gear went into red afterwords. It's a vicious cycle.
