Market Ward Stall lease (rant)Follow

How long does a lease last if you rent out a stall? Last night (12 hours ago), I leased a stall and set my retainer to sell my stuff. I log out (in the ward). Just now, I log back in, run to where my retainer was, and behold, a different retainer is standing there. I thought to myself, I'm on the wrong side, so I run to the other side of ward and I don't see my retainer in any of the stalls (or anywhere). I summon my retainer, and the screen says she should be on the floor I'm on. I summon and she pops up. Normally if you summon a retainer that is on the same floor, you should get a message that the retainer can't be summoned. Now I'm peeved, my retainer wasn't selling stuff like she was supposed to.

My suggestions:

1. SE explain what a "day" and "hours" mean when you're leasing a stall. I spent 1000 gil (small potatoes yes, but still...) to lease the stall, and renewed the lease after an hour (I didn't understand renewing, I thought it tacked on another day, but it just reset the lease time). A "day" and "hours" is definitely not earth time, or the stall leasing systems has a bug or bugs in it.

2. SE gives the user the option to punish their retainers. When "master" was away, the retainers will play. That will teach my retainer to do her job instead goofing off.

3. A combination of 1 and 2.

They did a maintenance last night which resets all the retainers that probably was your problem.

You only can keep the stall 1 earth day resetting at JP midnight, its 500 gil per ffxiv day which is roughly 1 hour.

The maintenance probably makes sense. When did that happen? I logged out around 3:00 am Eastern, so I know I passed JP midnight, and my retainer still had the same amount of money she had before I logged so I guess it must have happened right after I logged.
