Quests. Where are they?Follow

Okay so if there's one thing that really stands out in FFXI or any FF game it's the quests, and even the two I did in FFXIV were pretty well done; however, where the **** are the rest of them?

In fact, where is ANYTHING? I'm going to assume there's a major update coming that's going to increase the game's content by like 200% or at least there had better be because apart from leveling classes there's nothing to do at the moment. Yes MMOs are pretty contentless in the beginning but I highly, highly doubt that they took this long to make the game up to the point we currently see. It does not take that long to make that much content. They have to be holding back on stuff.

I mean, if you go into your journal you can see quests for each class and then some, but you can't find them anywhere.

If they skimp out on quests it's really going to harm the game for me, I need more NPCs with a point to them and more meaning to doing stuff, more exploring, more everything. I especially loved in FFXI when I had to go find a particular place somewhere, like those ??? marks, but I can't see anything like that happening again in this game.

Does anyone have any information that will relieve this situation or does it seem hopeless for the time being?

FFXI had like the vaguest quests of all time. Definitely looking at things through rose tinted glasses.

Yeah, no quests in the game currently sucks. They'll put in more, low level quests generally suck anyway in terms of reward/story.

That is like the eleventh time I've heard that statement on these forums and I will reiterate that this is the only place I've ever heard that expression ever. It's becoming quite annoying.

And no, it didn't. Unless you mean the generic stupid get two bat wings or something, which is no better than WoW. But, a lot of the later quests like the ToAU quests and Corsair quest line were pretty good. The Corsair quest line was probably my favourite thing in that entire game.

How are they not vague? Most of the time they just told you they wanted you to visit a zone and that was it. It was like, "Yes, I remember a story about an item in the Southern Jungle... Hmmmm... If only I had it..." Interpet this as: Go to Yuhtunga Jungle with hatchets, use hatchets on logging points until you get an rare/ex item (don't be mistaken into searching for numerous ??? all over that zone.) Come back and turn it in for a reward BUT ONLY FROM 20:00 TO 4:00 ON A CLEAR STARRY NIGHT.

Those quests you listed are like major quests they added much later. Majority of quests at the beginning were just 100-500g, some junk item or even nothing (because at the time you didn't know that fame itself was a reward - again with the vagueness.)

FFxi only had lvling and quests for about 1yr before RoZ which introduced more zones and endgame, This was after the origanal JP release, and ffxiv has barely been out 1 week. they will prolly add more when the find out what kind of load they will be having on the servers so they know how many recources they have free on the current servers for more content, maybe another week or 2, should be the latest of 30th october (1 month after SE is released) just be patient.

Get rank 20, and you can start doing class quests. I'm suprised people aren't doing them yet.

What are class quests? Do they have storylines or are they more like guildleves?

I don't understand.. the guildleves are quests. Why do they have to come from some prick with an exclamation point above his head in order to be considered a quest?

At rank 20, you can join a guild, such as the Marauder Guild. The guild gives you class quests. I wish i knew more about it, but nobody seems to be aware, or just haven't gotten there yet.

This is why I hate/love FF online games, the next awesome, fun thing is right around the corner, and every level feels like a monumental task. 5 levels away is like "Better wipe your calendar for the next 3 days."

It's 3 days if you just want to reach that mark. It's an additional week if you want to farm up some cash to gear up. Then another 2 days to get enough people from your LS together at one time to help out. :P

I don't count the guildleves as quests because they seem pretty much all the same and have a negligible amount of story. I guess I might count all the guildleves that are kill X of Y as 1 quest and all the get X number of Y drops as a 2nd quest, but 2 quests is not very many plus the storyline quests.
