Thanks for the link.

I have read that and crafting just drives me up the wall, I fail almost all the leve's and now I just spent every gil I had on zin ore only to lose it all with no brass nuggets..
I have never been a big fan of crafting in games but now I feel like I need to at least try just to maintain my weapons.

Probably failing just because it's a level 10 synth. Maybe even more as the item itself is listed as 15 optimal rank.

crafting is pretty borked. for the last week or so I have been trying all the strategies, watching colours, rotating through standard, rapid, bold, wait, and have been succeeding more than failing, but not great results.

Today, however, I needed to clear out inventory, so thought I would craft all these mats down that I have been saving. And really there was a lot, so I didn't care about succeeding, I just wanted to clear inventory and get a few skill points if I could. So I have been spamming Rapid all day, not looking at colours, I just wanted to get through this as fast and painless as possible. I haven;t failed a synth yet today >< AND now I'm getting rid of weaver stuff, so I was synthing recipe's 5 levels higher than me (yarn says 11, I was 6 when I started on them) didn't fail a single one spamming rapid. So crafting is just borked, there is no rhyme or reason to it yet.

So until I see patch notes talking about crafting, Rapid all the way. Just be careful not to power click like me right into "touch up" and have it botch on that :P

I'm doing a weaver leve and whenever I select Standard, I do the rapid motions and always progress 13-16% and I lose 12-15 Durability. When I select Rapid or Bold, I bust.

gah, I just started as a carpenter and I bust on ANY action I take. Even with support from the guild I bust level 1 synths...

I'm glad to see a mention regarding this, it definitely felt like a serious nerf for the last two days. I had no problem making certain things a few days ago, and then all of a sudden one day I failed 7 attempts to make Undyed Hempen Cloth as a Rank 9 Weaver. Smiley: eek

I've been noticing that the failure rate is way up, the durability loss on Standard synthesis is much higher than it was previously, and just in general can confirm what others have been saying about how things have been worse over the last couple of days than they were previously.

Until they get it fixed, you just have to pick your battles. If you're failing every (or almost every) action for each synthesis in a levequest, you might as well just burn through it, take your minor skill gains from the failed synths and clear it out of your quest log. If you're failing every (or almost every) action on synths using your own mats, for the love of Pete just STOP. Rank up a few times and try again. When you're failing like that, system issues or not, it means you're not likely to succeed.

Speaking specifically to the OP, you're way too low to be trying to make brass nuggets as a rank 7 GS even if everything was working as intended with the crafting system. As others have said, it's recommended for rank 15 even if it will let you try to make them sooner. The progression is copper -> bronze -> brass, and rank 7 is too low for good results with bronze. I'm making bronze nuggets with a rank 12 blacksmith. When the crafting system is working, I'll be fine. As it is now, I have to pay attention and employ good strategy or there's a good chance I'm going to blow up my crystal (I could care less about the ore). And I won't even be attempting brass until rank 15 as GS (assuming I ever mine up any zinc :/)

Phew. At least I know now it wasn't just me.

I grabbed a load of craft leves last night and was failing all over the shop.

Was failing level 5 leves at level 11. Was a bit frustrating. But if it's a bug. I can just wait for the fix. ;)

Luckily it only took them a couple of days to realize the system was screwed up. Hopefully the maintenance fixes it.
