Send/Receive Connection InfoFollow

#1 Sep 29 2010 at 10:01 PM Rating: Decent
It is getting very annoying now with this lag.

My send is 30 and receive goes from 0-8 to 20-40. So send/receive average is about 30.

I just want to know if im the only one who is having a low S/R connection and if there is any info to why.
Is this normal?

This one incident really ****** me off, i trekked from Drybone using hermes shoes all the way to out to limsa outside nosca all the way southern to harvest and later i find i was killed some time ago after mobs just popped and i instantly die.
It is getting very annoying ending up dead after almost 30 seconds of nothing in sight.
One day maybe:

That is just how many bytes of data are being sent to you, when it reaches 1024 its like 1 KB/sec

My sending says the same but recieving is always jumping anywhere from 10 to 1500, its got to be the reason im lagging hardcore, it only started recently too

I have the same issue, where the S (send) is allways sending, and the R (recieve) is very frequently stuck at 0 for increasingly longer times.

During the day it has been annoying but playable, but during the night, such as just now, it's completely unplayable at times, where I would spend more time waiting than actually playing, or dying becouse of it.

It's not my connection, I have an eye on my speed the whole time.

I just realy hope they are going to fix this, becouse it's otherwise a very good game, but right now very frustrating.

I had this problem from the time I started this game up until about 5 days ago.
I was running speed test after speed test and trying to change my settings just about everything I could do I did just to fix this problem.

Finally I called my internet provider.
I had verizon for 2 years and then another company took the over.
My problem came down to they never switched my connection line over at there main station.

Also I have an old box.
Thing is when I was with verizon I called them and asked them what speed I was showing they had me run a speed test and it showed that I was getting 560kbps up and about 550 down.
They told me this was good and I took what they said and said ok and never thought anything else about it. last week had the new company come over and they ran the same test told me it was crap and I should be getting way more.

The guy made a 5 min phone call they change my wiring around at the station and now I'm getting 2788kbps.

So 1: call and make sure you are getting what you are paying for from your provider.
2: if you are running dsl and its more than 2 or 3 years old you might need a new box I was told this by the guy that helped me out and he replaced it there at no cost to me.
3: Stay on your providers *** if you are having internet problems I would make them send out a tech as soon as you can just to make sure.

Anyways that fixed my problem with lag on the game it is running very smooth and the highest settings now.

thats all I an say sorry this was so long.

I need to take back my last post, I switched from a wireless connection to a wired one and all the problems I had were gone.

So for me at least, it's not the game.

Partially related: I would love to switch to a wired connected but for some reason my PS3 won't recognize that there's a CAT5 plugged into it unless it's wireless. Know any links on how to fix that so I can go wired and decrease my lag?
