Valiant Kanoste Macros one stop!Follow

For those of you that want say a change on the fly and all you want and need to know this is my Macro Set I use and some other tips and items I have for side Macros or just commands. I enjoy having extra gear in my inventory or grab it from my retainer if I am going to go out crafting. I am a Gladiator Main but love doing Crafting Leves every day also so I have Macros to change my gear along side my class so I can use the best gear for that class. Check it out and you can use if you would like and build on it yourself.

ENJOY!
Valiant Kanoste

Party Commands
/pcmd add - Invites the targeted NPC to your party. You should be able to invite players from a distance in future versions of FFXIV, but this feature is not yet implemented.
/pcmd oust [name] - Removes the selected player from your party. Can also be accomplished by targeting the player.
/pcmd leave - Leave your party
/pcmd disband - Disbands your party
/join - Accepts a party invite
/decline - Declines a party invite

Battle Preparatory Commands
/battleregimen(/br) [on/off] - Enables your Battle Regimen.
/aoe [on/off]
/battlemode(/bm) [on/off]

Targeting Commands
/targetnpc - Targets the closest NPC within the nearest radius.
/targetpc - Targets the closest PC within the nearest radius.
/lockon - Locks onto the desired target. Re-type this if you wish to break the lock
/enemysign [number (1-8)] [target] - Mark the selected target with the sign of your choosing. Signs are designated by the numbers 1-8.

Should add /eaction macros for the BTN/MIN/FSH "finder" actions.

BTN:
Arbor Call
Triangulate

MIN:
Lay of the Land
Prospect

FSH:
Gulleye
Dowse

Also, Tender Touch is CRP 10, so not everyone will have it, and it's for crafting, so no reason to equip it for DoL classes.

Also, if you have +1 gear, do NOT include the +1 in your macro. It won't work. This means if you have a Bronze Needle, and a Bronze Needle +1, you need to ditch the regular for your macro to pick up the +1 (it might also be according to which it encounters first in the list, but I don't know).

Thanks for the Disciples of the Land actions I have not touched them yet for the actions to list.

I agree that the CRP action is only for Disciples of the Hand. Of course you may use it for all the other Crafting of the Hand classes once you obtain it. So note that for those who read this thread.

Also on the +1 etc for equipping items. I can not say either way on the items but if you take some time and use your retainer I keep all my gear at the top of my inventory and all my Mats at the bottom of the inventory even when crafting and making new items I would say you probably want to drop off your newly created items with your retainer but of course if you charge into battle then you might just want to check what you have equipped.

The nice thing is FFXIV informs you of what you equip and if you have it equipped already then it says it is. If you have multi actions set on your bar and you error out with not being able to equip an action it might be good to clear your action bar prior to running a macro for your class, such as:

Clear Actions Bar
/eaction 1
/eaction 2
/eaction 3
/eaction 4
/eaction 5
/eaction 6
/eaction 7
/eaction 8
/eaction 9
/eaction 10

Then run your Macro to set your actions you might error out just once with say your basic attack depending where you have that placed since normally its in action slot 1 and if you place another skill there that is not on your bar it will yell that you cant remove it such as "Light Stab" but in that case just run the Macro for your actions twice and you are set and ready to go. All in all to change classes on the fly I hit 4-5 Macros which take less then a Minute and I am ready to start with that class. It beats the 5+ minutes it took me in Beta when I tried to change classes as I never set macros back then.

I had this as a notepad doc that I just copied and pasted over to my FFXIV Macros which about made 80ish Macros so its hefty in time to move them all over but when you ever get new items or want a new class you can copy that section and you can alter gear as u wish and as you level.

+1 on sticky

Using actions (spells and abilities included)

/ac "Skill Name" <t> Use named skill or spell on current target

/ac "Skill Name" <me> Use named skill or spell on yourself

/ac "Skill Name" <st> Use named skill on selectable target leaving current target selected after skill use
i.e. target mob then use /ac "Cure" <st>
the game will wait for you to select a target then once Cure is cast o nthat target it will reselect the target you had selected prior to using the macro.

Thanks for the post, I feel kind of stupid now as I never thought of just using a capital R or L for those but lots of other combinations.

oh and thought that part I quoted of yours was pretty funny, you should make that a say, lol.

I havent had any success getting my macros to equip different items with the same names into different slots. is this possible? I have 4 brass rings atm and 2 copper wristlets but the macro will only equip one of each. Do i have to equip the others manually?

Yes I encountered this issue from the get go. There is no way currently to equip two of the same name of a L.R. of any of these slots ring or index or wrist or ear.
Lets say you choose to run these macros above:
/equip L.ring "Copper Ring"
/equip R.ring "Copper Ring"
The game searches your inventory for the first Copper Ring in your inventory and then equips it. When the second macro hits it then searches your inventory again and it will always pick the first one listed which was previously equipped to your L.ring finger, thus causing it to fail. From my experience of Macros so far if you build out a Macro for your gear just list out one side such as the your Left side and the macro will run then for the left side and then place a /echo message to yourself to remind you to equip the Right side equipment for now. This will be needed to be done until SE fixes this. As you could see in my macros I have a command:
/echo Equip Right Ear/Wrist/Ring
This help reminds me that I need to manually equip the Right side of these.

Beautiful, thank you very much. FYI, if you don't put anything after the name of an item/action/etc, you can omit the second parenthesis (and omit parentheses entirely if the item/action/etc is just one word, like FFXI :)).

honestly it should be as simple as /l1 blablabla and /l2 blablabla etc but it isn't, unless i am just simply retarded and haven't found THE way yet.

I have been searching the various patch notes and do not see a specific way to swap LS since you main equip one to chat in. But SE is working on reducing the needs of clicks. So lets hope this is an item that gets added!

Just as a footnote, /eaction # is not limited to slots 1-10. You can "turn the corner" so to speak, and use a macro to set abilities in all three action bars. /eaction 11 through /eaction 20 corresponds with the associated slot in action bar 2, and /eaction 21 through /eaction 30 does the same for action bar 3.

Great OP, should be stickied. I've lost count of how many times I've come back to this thread...

A bit odd for me since most of my gears for jobs are worthless, and there is no way I am going to tell 'Valiant Kanoste' i just finished my macro... but yeah, rate up for actually showing how macros are done well and I hope people use them more often now.

Gonna use that one for actions... and enemy signs, its worth adding to my lists. :)

Old post or not its the best macro guide I have found after a lot of searching. Even months later its still very helpful. I can add (and bump :) that I had to put the bonus at the end of the action title +1, +2 etc. in order to get them to work. Thanks for the post!

Now see, this I DIDN'T know! So good to always come back and see what new info you can find.

Thanks OP!

Yeah I have macroes for my 41 arch and i have to have 3 to set everything i want due to 8lines per macro instead of 10.

The /eaction 11-20 and 21-30 are very helpful. Now if only we could see more than one action bar row during combat it would make things a tad easier.

Good helpful post. Now if there was a macro to synthesize w/o opening menu.

Also i make a food macro for my commonly used foods ie /item "Meat Miq'obobs <me> /item "Flatbread" <me> in same macro so if im out of one it will auto to next i have in inv.

I'm happy to say you can do this, and you don't need a macro. Just go to 'keyboard' menu where you can change your hotkeys and look for the option. I am not being intentionally vague, but I uninstalled FF14 this morning and therefore cannot go check and give you absolute directions, but just do a quick look and you'll come across it.

It not only sets up your synthesis, but if you are near a mine, quarry, fishable waters, anything harvestable it'll set that up for you too (given that you're in the correct gear of course). The day I found that I became so very happy. Menu, synthesis, or ? icon at top of page, Mine, click-click-click was God awful waste of time.

To OP: I am looking forward to returning to the game when I get a new rig and using some of these macros. That invite / leave party is perhaps my most favorite on paper. Menu. Party Settings. Details. Leave. What a load of crap. Macro is a God send.

btw, is there a macro to add a friend? That's a convoluted process also.
